First thing that comes to mind when someone says the word "Battlefield":

Good grief. I made the mistake of watching this movie voluntarily during "good bad movie night." AWFUL.

I must confess that I can't stand "bad movie nights" anymore

I used to love them when it involved friends and beers and stuff but eventually I just decided I'd rather watch movies I find good

I remember seeing you there in the discussion about the Detroit bankruptcy and the pensions being cut. Fuhr showed up too and that was weird because the guy had some very, very strange opinions on a variety of topics

It very hot'n'cold: there are few really, really good posters on there but it's mostly drivel for sure. I thought I had found a place that would be interested in discussing issues but a lot of the posters on there love to just rail on the very obvious and not very good trolls instead

I think I posted in that thread when it was in the business of hockey section and after it moved I never looked at it again.

Went to the sens game, both teams played pretty well aside from select players (namely Lehner and Greiss)...last 5 minutes were exciting because of the sens' comeback. Great game to watch as a neutral fan...the last 5 minutes were also incredibly dirty, both teams were getting away with murder, especially the pens during one of those minutes (counted 3 penalties by them alone)

Anybody seen/have an opinion on Birdman? I can't hear about that movie without thinking of the Portlandia sketch

Anyone have any experience with vaporizers? The ones that replace smoking cigarettes? I'm looking to quit, but it's proving pretty hard and would like to try these things.

In Ottawa they have a shop, smoke fx.

Seems like a legit place but wanted to see if anyone else has tried this before?

I know some people who have used them to slowly transition away from cigarettes. I believe that provincial laws now treat them the same as real cigarettes in terms of where you're allowed to actually use them though (and that was previously part of the appeal to those people, being able to get their fixes indoors and so on)

Yeah I've noticed that, I'm not really against that either, as I've never smoked inside anyway.

I think it is still a fairly unknown thing though, it's been treated like a cigarette because of the perception.

IMO, I would work on finding activities to take up time that would normally be spent smoking. I used to teach a 14 step quit smoking program, and one of the main things though was eliminating the daily habits and triggers that make you want to smoke.

I don't believe BioWare will ever be able to produce a gem like ME1 or KOTOR ever again, so I don't have high hopes for Mass Effect 4. If anything it'll be an 'ok-to-good' game, but it'll miss that magic to make it a gem.

BioWare used to be good for a guaranteed masterpiece. Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, KotOR, Jade Empire...

****ing EA.

Yeah it's hard, I can go a few days without but I always end up smoking again especially on weekends.

It's been ongoing for a few years now, so I figure i have to try new things. LOL

This weather doe. I was driving on the highway at 120km and realized there's something from the driver side door letting in air from outside, checked the windows and opened and closed my door and still wasn't it. Got out of the car and checked everything, doesn't seem like there's a gap between the door and the car where it closes and it's not from the side mirror, it's driving me nuts.

The air I can live with, but that sound you hear when air is squeezing into a tiny space made me want to ****ing drive off a cliff. I spent 15 mins of my work break in this cold trying to figure out what it is and nada.

Try vapourizers and gradually reduce the level of nicotine. Helps with the habitual element, even gives a throat hit. During the time it takes you to quit its significantly cheaper, and significantly less dangerous.

edit: I missed your earlier post where you asked about experience with them. Smoke FX is a great spot, the staff is always helpful. Good selection.

Yeah i heard they were a lot better now in terms of making it "feel" the same.

I'm going to go check it out tonight.

Awesome plan. One thing is if you go to the hazledean mall location you won't be able to sample the flavours. The mall itself banned vaporizers indoors, which means the location is probably doomed. Oh wait im thinking of E-steam. I get them confused sometimes, never actually been to smoke-fx.

Whatever they recommend, i'd suggest you get two batteries and a tank that you can rebuild (replaceable coils). Some of the cheaper, replaceable throwaway tanks can leak and are generally frusterating.

Yeah I was going to check out Smoke fx on March. They do sampling there, so i guess that's my best bet.

I was looking at a Vision Spinner dual set (90$) seems like that's the best bang for the buck.

Now I'm not sure if I want to go with fruity smoke or tobacco ones. LOL

Looks like a good set. I've never tried those tanks, but they look similar to the ones I use.

Generally you can get parts a lot cheaper on ebay from china, but you're going to be waiting a month for shipping. Starting with a kit from a local store is a good way to go.

I went with a tobacco flavour to start too, but just go with whatever you like. The juice is pretty cheap, you're looking at 16-20 bucks for a 30ml bottle that lasts me a former 1/2 to 1 pack a day smoker a month.

So going with multiple flavours doesn't hurt either. If they have Cinnamon Roll there check it out, that was my favorite but esteam stopped buying from that supplier :P

Sounds good, they seem to have a deal for 3 small bottles, I'll give a few a try.

And so it worked for you? You don't miss actual cigarettes anymore?

I made the switch in August, figured i'd use the vaporizer to cut down on cigs gradually but within two days I wasn't smoking real cigarettes at all. I still had several left in my pack when I threw it away.

Sometimes I miss real cigarettes, but it passes. I know within a month i was breathing better, tasting things better, I lost my smokers cough. All the good things that come from giving them up even though i replaced them with the vaporizer. Normally i crave it when someone is smoking in a movie :P But the vaporizer really helps with the habitual element, the oral fixation, the need to fiddle with things with my fingers.

I started off on 24mgs of nicotine in my liquid, im down to 6. Im taking things very slowly, im sure people could get off them a lot faster but I really enjoy puffing on the thing. I'll probably keep using it even when i get rid of the nicotine entirely.

We talked about it here a few pages ago. I thought it was a bit too self-conscious and I didn't care that much about the main character's dilemmas, but Deku Scrub liked it; he said he likes movies that make you think.

The direction is great though: very long shots, with the camera moving smoothly from one actor to another. Think the opening shot of The Player, but for the whole movie.

Yeah I pretty much loved everything about that movie. It's not for everyone, but it was certainly perfect for me
