Yesterday a small Alberta town that is very Mormon voted to put fluoride in their water, and continue the ban on playing sports at public facilities on Sunday, alcohol, and backyard hens
And.......
I'm not sure what the problem is. Residents can buy alcohol and bring it into the town, they just can't get it IN the town. Considering the town in 90% LDS, sale of alcohol would not be sufficient enough to offset the problems alcohol will bring to the town and the local reserve.
Backyard hens bring backyard rodents, and mountain lions, which have been spotted in the area according to local officials.
As stated by other fluoride has been used by many other municipalities, not exactly a radical move.
As for the sports on Sunday, once again, it is a small town with little to no sports to begin with. Not sure why CBC is so interested in this, if anything I would be surprised that the town actually took a vote on it and that it was Mormons who wanted it on the ballot.
