Sens fans ready to declare themselves a playoff lock and all of their contracts a stroke of Da Vinci level genius if their crap squad wins tonight.
Repeat of 2022 "Summer of Pierre" But to be fair I thought they were a playoff lock last year too  I think they'll actually do it this time.

The overhyping of Sanderson is nauseating.
I’ve had Sens fans trying to tell me that Sanderson is “super elite at everything”.

Don’t forget Stutzle’s comments about how everyone is buying into how amazing their core is and how winning means taking less money.

These guys always seem to be in the news during preseason but are an afterthought by November.

I have Buffalo grabbing a spot, not the Sens. I feel they have a better mix of talent.

I think Sabres and Sens both make it in the WC spot

1) Tor
2) TB
3) Fla

1) Car
2) NJ
3) NYR

WC1 ) Ott
WC 2) Buf

Pens/Caps just missing.

so the only question.... some fine Bourbon, or Canadian Whiskey?
hmmmmm..................

Robertson, Cowan, Gregor, everything else is kind of whatever. Bert and the big guy in a Leafs uniform some intrigue.

Anyone seriously critiquing Matthews and Marner, etc, please stuff it in advance. Thanks.
Man, still miss Johnny Fever!!!

Buffalo is just as cursed as the Leafs.

The Sens on the other hand..........well they now have ownership that will spend money. They've always been amazing at drafting.

I'm not saying the Sens are good btw........just they might rise up in the standings over the next few years because of the things I said above.

I'm not one to make premature claims though, let's drop the puck and see what happens. Never saw the point in getting into debates between fanbases about where the teams are headed. Just watch and see.

Instead of stuffing the criticism in advance, I’ll give it instead:laugh:

I can’t believe Matthews hasn’t scored yet, I knew him and Marner didn’t have it

:naughty:

Stones and glass houses my dude. We may not have done it ourselves, but our base is notorious for overhyping prospects in the past.

Remember McKegg, Bracco and Biggs?

The amount of times we talk bad about the sens or other teams and just ignore that we as a fan base do the same thing. We might look back in a few years and have egg on our face with Robertson and Niemela.

Having an owner that spends money doesn’t really matter. Every team spends to the cap when trying to be competitive. It’s not like baseball where you can get a nutty billionaire to come in and drop half a billion on payroll.

I hope you are right, and the Bruins will FINALLY suck again. But don't hold your breath.
They have no centers, their top 2 C retired. They lost their #1 LW to a divisional rival. How are they going to look on the faceoffs without Bergeron/Krejci ? A lot more time without the puck. How does their defensive game and PK look ?

My prediction for them is to have an extremely slow start, maybe figure things out by January ish, but too difficult at that point to catch up to the teams ahead of them.

I thought they'd miss last year too but they dominated the regular season, but the roster subtractions this time are significant.

I'll be watching Klingberg tonight, less so Robertson.
I think the latter is destined to be a depth NHL guy/AHL scoring leader but I hope he proves me wrong.

I'm gonna go ahead and expect them to be a very good team.

I've been hoping for them to take a slide for many years and it hasn't happened. Out in the first round last season is a good start. But I won't let myself assume they're on the down slide even with losing Bergy and Krejci (?)

I'll let things play out before getting any ideas about who's gonna be great this year.

Best team = waiving Reaves and Timmins and then calling up Holmberg and Robertson.

Best asset management = running 11-7 and this is likely what happens.

We will be cap compliant game 1 with a 20 man roster and losing no one important to waivers.

What do you think is the best team that we can't ice right now?
Not sure about best, but it includes Reaves...sick of watching Mitchy run away.
