At this point, Matinpalo or Guennette can’t be worse than that hockey terrorist Hamonic.
When all 3 players come back (including Zub), do they have the cap space to have an extra D (Hamonic) and an extra F (MacEwen)? If Hamonic's not playing, then he's in the press box. Can MacEwen be sent down to the minors? If not, do they send JBD down to make room? I too would like to see Gaudette remain in the line-up instead of MacEwen once everyone returns.Don’t think you can send Gaudette down once Perron and Pinto are back. Dude has their most GPG
Yes, but wasn't Ridley injured at the time? I guess it would be MacEwen in the pressbox once Perron and Pinto come back. Then Gregor would go back to the 4th line with Gaudette and Cousins, Ridley could remain on the 1st line and Perron be reunited with Pinto and Amadio as that line was clicking before Pinto's injury and Perron's leave. He made the team when Perron and Pinto were here. I don’t think he’s going back down at all.
I wouldn't keep MacEwen over Perron in the line-up. MacEwen is a 4th liner, Perron is a top 9 forward.I'd be fine with sending just ostapchuk down and keeping Perron as the extra forward
And we don't even have a full roster. Imagine when Zub, Pinto and Perron come back.Damn, what a game by the boys ... so many close calls. We really deserved that one. If they keep playing like this, we will win a lot of games this year. Even our losses against strong team, we haven't been dominated, total different feel from the last few years about this team !
The last time I remember having a scoring threat on the 4th line was Vermette. He had so many tools: speed, great at face-offs, great hands. Just couldn't handle the pressure when placed higher in the line-up, his scoring would dry up.I am a big fan of this edition of Adam Gaudette. I don't think we've had such a dangerous player on the 4th line....ever?
Probably the main difference between a cup contender and the rest.
