Check Engine light on the Sens road record is now officially flashing red. They are 1-4 and have 6 road games left in Nov (Buf, Bos, Tor, Car, L.A., S.J.) so realistically won’t be a .500 road team until the end of the month

Expect them to be on the bubble on the outside of the top 8 until their road record gets to at least .500 - so not in the top 8 until Dec 1

The only road game that really scares me is Carolina, otherwise it's all winnable, or at least we can steal a point in.

It really was the instant karma for the automatic goals hurled into the net against St Louis.

We actually probably played a better game against the Rangers, ironically enough.

Watching and appreciating - not singing and beating drums.

I went to see the NAC Orchestra and no one was screaming and cheering during the epic fourth movement of Beethoven’s Symphony #4.

Very strange.

They aren’t real music fans like the ones you see at Green Day concerts.

As someone who was in the crowd, they have a good energy there. Igor chants were obviously common, but they have a chant participation in their goal song and they do things like arena wide karaoke which was fun (Mr. Brightside).

They also use the hockey organ far more than we do - more than half the stoppages I’d say. It makes for a cool old school vibe as opposed to Cotton Eyed Joe.

There were a fair number of tourists (it’s NYC marathon weekend) but it doesn’t have that executive vibe at all. One weird thing is that they tend to come and go to their seats a lot during play (these are jerseyed fans) which does not happen in Ottawa.

The concourse there (200 level) is extremely narrow, like half the width of ours, which I always found was already too narrow.

As a result, it’s a real crush between the periods. Florida and Nashville (obviously much newer buildings) have great wide concourses where you can get around easily in between periods.

I think there will always be limits to how much you can expand MSG given the original building and the surroundings.

What an absolute love-in for this team in the postgame posts. It’s hard to believe we’re talking about a .500 team that can’t win on the road.

We either score 8 on 25 shots or 1 on 45 shots.
It's a helluva yo-yo at this point in the season when Boston is leaving the door open in the standings

Wow, talk about running into a hot goalie with 40+ shots. Wish it was Ullmark I was talking about.

Oh well, at least the SENS didn't sh!t the bed, it was a close game.

Bring it home tonight boys!!!!! :fight:

Some teams just seem to always find a franchise goalie, imagine going from Lundqvist to Shesterkin, Thomas to Rask to Swayman or Rhinne to Saros.

As a fan of a team that has struggled to find goalies for the majority of the teams history, I'm extremely jealous, thank goodness we got Ullmark.

Batherson and in particular Norris need to shoot as soon as they have an opening
They are our elite sniper
They had chances last night and opted for different plays

Best game of the season overall though

The second line wasn’t particularly good considering how consistently decent they’ve been of late.

Even if they go 4-2 on the road in November they’ll only be .500% on the road.

Going to be a long road to get back to an everyday playoff team. Will take all of November to claw back in. Still early but it gets late fast, especially in November in Ottawa

In a season of little tests, tonight is another one. They played really well, enough to serve notice that they're ready to compete with the big boys imo, but one shit game and another loss and that narrative can eat shit.

I'm rarely pleased after a loss, but I dare ottawa to play like that against teams that don't happen to have a brick wall in net that night

Couldn’t agree more, particularly for Norris. He’s been deferring a lot, sometimes with awkward drop passes. A Norris wrister anywhere in the slot is a great option.

Need a 3 game win streak here, all winnable games the next 2. Have to get a win streak together at some point and make sure Ullmark and Forsberg can deliver wins when the team plays well

Nothing much to say. They played really well last night. They should've had the Vegas game (still mad about that). Shoulda woulda coulda. I'm loving the work ethic. It's a long season. If they keep playing like that, the wins will come. Let's see what they've got tonight.

The points we could have or should have had are starting to pile up. Every team has them, but the really good team learn how to minimize them. We'll get there soon enough, hoping we have another strong performance tonight, only this time, come away with the two pts

Rangers also had Richter just a few years before Lundqvist, who overlapped with JVB… Boston had Dafoe and Moog before the lockout… Nashville had Dunham then Vokoun…

All would probably be the best goalie we’ve ever had besides Anderson (and half a year of Hasek)

yah we are a .500 team but we are playing better and with more consistency. We can't quite hang with the big dogs yet but we are getting there and certainly showing more promise. Put Zub, Pinto and Perron back in and we have a very solid team. Probably the most encouraged I have been since Boucher got us in the playoffs

Hopefully we don't lay an egg in the back to back. They are demanding and we need to get off to a fast start. Seattle is no push over.

I think they need to win 4 of the next 6 outright. And play like they did the last 2 games while they're at it. Hungry, aggressive, shooting a ton, getting timely goaltending.

I think it will be this way until the middle of Jan or so. They are starting to look detemined now. Even keel. If they keep that up, a heater in the last 1/3 of the season is probable. I know it's early in this season, but that determination would be something to start next season with, instead of having to learn it. Then we win the cup and Gary and Vegas can choke on our 1rst rd pick. Easy as that.
