Ottawa was the better team tonight but this 'Rangers are frauds' narrative is complete BS. The best teams know how to squeak out points in all situations - that's exactly what separates the top of the crop from the rest of the league. Play a mediocre home game, get outshot 40-20, and come out with 2 points in the standings. That's exactly what the Sens are missing to take the next step.
That team is pretty close to being a cup favourite. That's a step I'd really like to take.

Hamonic needs to be traded. He isn't an option on our blue line, not even as a 7D. I didn't see a lot of Jensen in the third and I am trying to understand why? We definitely need a healthy Zub.
But what would that cost to dump him if, say, columbus falls off and starts buying up cap dumps?

We don’t win too many games 2-1.

Gord Wilson asked the same questions, same order with all players and the coach in the post-game. Maybe mix it up a bit.

Still disappointed they couldn't make the one big play they needed to get a point.

Not finding ways to win some games they otherwise put themselves into a position to get a point or two.

Played great that's for sure. Still need to figure out how to be a winning team though.

That hurts. Now gotta turn around and do it again.

I really like the Ostapchuk line, so much speed and they are capable of causing a lot of trouble even if it doesn’t result in a goal much. They can win their shift more than not. I’d hate to take Gaudette but with Perron and Pinto back you have to keep that line as your 4th.

Can't be mad about the effort and how they played, would have been hard to play better than this.

We lost 3 in the last 4 games but that's 3 games where we should have had at least one point.

They only lost 2 games cleanly (vs Habs and Devils) but played well enough to win or least get a point in all the other games, that's encouraging

Can't wait to get Zub and Pinto back, Perron too would be nice. Jensen and Chabot works really well, Chabot has been a monster. I hope Jensen can keep it up, he looks rejuvenated

This team has so much talent, they need to have a better record than this but it feels like we finally have NHL coaching.

They played like a winning team tonight. All the way. they just kept bringing it but Shesty was simply unbeatable. What else could they have done?

Didn’t even watch the interviews but i’m assuming its something like this: “well, safe to say you guys thought you played pretty well and deserved a better fate?”

I don't think people realize the effect Hamonic is having not only on the team(as liability), but on Sanderson.

Sanderson, if anyone is watching carefully, aside from the PP, is playing ultra conservative to cover for the mistakes(or potential mistakes) of Hamonic.

Sanderson has been neutered by Hamonic. Not only is Hamonic a liability making blatant mistakes out there, he is removing one of our most efficient players from having a greater impact that he showed in the beginning of the season.

We need Zub back so badly. Extremely.

Also, I have only one negative takeaway from tonight, the boys are bobbling too many pucks, aside from that, we should have won without a doubt.

The forecheck we are displaying is the best I think I have ever seen since 05-06.

Lastly, the puck almost always dies on Tkachuk's stick. It is actually embarrassing how many plays he ruins due to carelessness with the puck. Particularly the PP. I think he is responsible for over 40% of play disruptions on the PP alone.

To those saying put Gaudette on the top line, I disagree. Tkachuk is already fumbling everything in sight and cherry picking horrifically every game, and Greig has provided some excellent 2 way hockey with physicality and has allowed Stutzle to have open space to play his game. If you watch carefully, Greig has been doing so many little plays that has allowed Stutzle to do his thing such as driving the net hard, retrieving pucks, subtle touch passes etc.

Keep that line together. We need that type of player on that line.

Tkachuk was the one who fed Gaudette for our only goal of the night.

Btw, Jensen was absolutely dynamite tonight. Guy entered another gear in the 3rd period and was playmaking out there like a C, lol. Almost scored a heck of a goal too.

Also was loving Amadio's game. Such a smart player.

Ostapchuk has also really impressed me. I am of the opinion he needs another full-season in the AHL but he keeps playing like that with Pinto out and he'll make it hard for us to send him down.

I keep forgetting Perron is out.

A healthy roster and this team looks geared for a top 3 finish in the division, let alone a playoff spot.

Kudos to Green, he has them playing terrific hockey. The forecheck is absolute masterclass and best I have seen in almost two decades.

They definitely played like a winning team. Just didn't win. They have to get used to winning and finding ways to win these games.

Playing the right way for sure. They need to get reps of winning games consistently. This team has never done that before, have only ever known finding ways to lose.

It feels like they are close. Would like to see a nice winning streak where they get rewarded for their solid play soon.

I missed just about the entire game ans I see that everyone has similar thoughts for the most part. Shesterkin is the best in the business which makes sense. I do hope they continue pushing to grow. .500 isn't the best but our schedule has been rather tough early on. Being battle tested is the best if you want to succeed throughout the season and in the future. The division is fairly even so we shouldn't be worried right now. GSG !

Excellent third, couldn't ask for much more imo. Just couldn't finish, but hard to be mad. We'll win those or tie most nights

Any other goalie for the Rangers in net tonight and the Senators win this 4-1. They were pounding pucks on Sheshterkin and he was just eating everything. I was frustrated. The rebounds were also never grade A. I have a feeling a winning streak is coming. They can't play this good and not win.

he has a NMC he isn't going anywhere.
It’s tough we can’t even afford to scratch him. What’s worse is that if his play continues, he will get beat up so bad in the media and fans that he could play even worse if he loses confidence. Kind of like Bobby Ryan type situation. He is a warrior, just over the hill so I feel slightly bad for him.
