Let’s make it clear, Ottawa would not do this.

Nichuskin has his own issues. That on it’s own is an issue I don’t think Ottawa can deal with in their locker room. Avs have a strong core and Nichuskin is a great player but the fit is just not there.

Why Girard? Ottawa already has Sanderson and Chabot on the left side… makes no sense. He’s a smaller guy I don’t see Staios being interested at all.

Overall it’s a bad offer that doesn’t really address the holes Ottawa would need to fill.

Tkachuk to the Avs for Nickushkin + Girard + Kovalenko

Would Avs fans do this?

Pass. That's way too much from the Avs.

If you are trading for Nuke, its under the assumption he'll be clean the rest of his contract. Given contracts (term and $/year), Nuke = Tkachuk. Sure you could throw in Kovalenko, but definitely not adding a top4 dman ontop of that, that's crazy.

Hell yeah from the Avs. I'd kill for either Tkachuk, but to move Nuke potentially quitting on us again at the same time. Huge win.

Value wise though, its pretty solid assuming a sober Nuke, but probably underwhelming from the Sens pov. Quantity > quality.

As good as Tkachuk is and as bad as Nuke's off-ice issues are, this still makes them a worse team (assuming Nuke doesn't get banhammered again).

Now that's a big assumption, but Avs need depth. I'd pass.

There's zero way Nuke holds the value Brady holds. That's pure delusion to even suggest it.

this is really bad for the sens.

tkachuk + for extended rantanen
or
tkachuk for 1st, ritchie, +

nuke would make more sense for a player who also comes with baggage like norris.

Nuke is so good. Without the drug problems, this is a hard no. But with them in mind: The risk that comes with him makes him a bad trade chip. Then there’s the fact that the Avs need depth, not necessarily star power. This does not help.

Not bad value wise. Nichushkin is a very impactful player. He absolutely might be just as impactful as Tkachuk. But the obvious issue is his reliability. So, it seems like Girard is the hedge to offset Nichushkin’s reliability concerns. That doesn’t mean it makes sense for either team but the value seems to make sense.

If you are trading for Nuke, you trade for a risk, can't assume he'll be clean after what we just saw the last few years.

Tkachuk is a way more valuable piece than Nuke.

This is from a sens hater too

Tkachuk to the Avs for Nickushkin + Girard + Kovalenko

Would Avs fans do this?

Too many missed games, too much uncertainty with Nichushkin, Sens don't touch this. Kovalenko doesn't move the needle and Girard is not needed. Sens actually let go a slightly lesser version in Brannstrom (who has better advanced stats and ES production per minute the last 2 years)

this is really bad for the sens.

Yeah even then, Norris is on pace for 36 goals and is an excellent 2-way center, plays a complete 200 ft game and is good on face-offs. His injuries seem to be behind but who knows

IF there was zero baggage with Nichushkin, I'd be all over this. I wouldn't want Girard though.

Only because of Nichushkins substance issues would I do this. In a vacuum the value heavily favors Ottawa quite frankly, but once you factor in the Nichushkin off ice stuff it swings in the Avs favor for sure.

Avs would be in a real tough spot without Girard though.

You guys really think Girard and Kovalenko have that much value?

I would NOT pick up Girard on waivers.

Girard has 2 more years at 5.0 AAV, I'm not touching that contract
