Only if he somehow ends up in the AHLHe’s been a big factor in their winning streak. Only maybe Husso more valuable
I think he puts 70P next year

Isn't that supposed to be Bert's appeal? It’s tough when you need both grit and goals, because there are maybe a handful of guys in the league who really provide both. One caused us fits tonight. His brother just went for an arm and two legs. Wilson is expiring in ‘24, but he’ll be 30 and WSH won’t sell cheaply. It’s a very tough hole to fill when you’re not drafting guys that fit the bill.
Not the same archetype, but Bunting could give you a bit of sandpaper and goals this summer.

Bert ended up on the score sheet but I didn't see him much after that. He's been awfully quiet since he came back from injury.Isn't that supposed to be Bert's appeal?
The officiating punked them, but that's no reason to give up like they did. Not a valid excuse. And by not sending a message, it betrays a feebleness that will make things harder tomorrow night. They're going into this next game with 0 momentum after doing their best origami impression that last 20 minutes. Complaining about the officiating, or being worried about contacting the league office, is something the coaches/front office may want to pursue, but it has no effect whatsoever on the players. That has to be out of their mind.I don't like what I saw either. Important game for two teams and the officiating was atrocious. Fluctuating from nothing called to chintzy shit called. I don't blame the Wings one bit for not finding any rhythm. League minimum backup can only do so much against a top 5 PP and turnstile defending.
As for messages... the most important one is to the league office. Not the Baby Ruth loving MFer on the other team.
When you say both you mean Bunting and Wilson? One more year one Wilson’s deal, not sure if I phrased that well. I do expect he’ll be a big deadline piece of healthy next year though. With how many space fillers the team currently has you can add both pretty easily and not cost meaningful players roster spots.
He got a 4 years contract at almost 5 mil per.My biggest criticism of Lalonde, maybe my only criticism that I'm really feeling, is that Chiarot is still with Hronek. It's borderline inexcusable after what we've seen work and not work through 60ish games.

Why? Ottawa won't be there.Tonight was a good dose of "it would be pointless to make the playoffs"
Hard? Sure. But at some point.... man, it's just gotta be done or else you're actively hurting your chances at winning/making the playoffs. Guess Lalonde/Yzerman don't think they're at that point yet. Feels like they are.He got a 4 years contract at almost 5 mil per.
Enough people said he is a bottom pairing D to begin with.
Kinda hard to bury him there with that contract?
I was saying this to be funny but I went and looked and realized they have played the exact number of career games, which is serendipitous.DeKeyser > Chiarot

Anyone want to guess which is which?
547 GP, 35 G, 99 A, 134 P, -29, 392 PIM
547 GP, 33 G, 113 A, 146 P, +4, 266 PIM
Judging by the PIMs, first one is Chia?I was saying this to be funny but I went and looked and realized they have played the exact number of career games, which is serendipitous.

It's competitive hockey. The insinuation here that it's fine they just fold like scared little boys is peculiar. They should show they are still there, still present in the competition. Some effort as a bare minimum, rise up to the physical challenge, run a guy if you have a chance. Turn the dial up in that situation because you're way behind, competitively, and your only chance to catch up is to put forth some effort, of some kind. What message are we supposed to be sending?
