as an aside, what a f***ed up amount of wealth for a person to be able to accumulate off the backs of so many.
Like living back in the days of King and Queens hoarding everything.as an aside, what a f***ed up amount of wealth for a person to be able to accumulate off the backs of so many.

Very true!!!there has been hierarchies for as long as humans existed not everyone is born equal sadly. Just gotta remember to be grateful we are able to post and complain on a hockey forum when other people have far greater challenges.
Bettman literally said it would be a matter of weeks like a week ago.I remember Garrioch saying we'd know the buyer by the end of January.
That must have been before he did his homework...I remember Garrioch saying we'd know the buyer by the end of January.
I'm not but I don't think we're gonna have much of a choice. Find this really unfortunate.I mean this season has been a success despite the awful start.
I'm totally fine with giving Dorion and Smith a chance to impress the new owners.
Dorion is the bigger problem it's not even close. He picked the coach he built the roster that has absolutely no prospect depth after missing the playoffs for 6 straight seasons. You're kidding yourself if you think DJ is the bigger issue. This is the first year he has anything remotely close to a competitive roster. Those aren't his decisions. This team needs new leadership from the top that can identify goaltending and pro talent. The team has no depth.Dorion yes. but DJ has consistent inconsistencies. Time to let someone else try to get the best out of the players.

Nice to see a voice of reason.I'm not but I don't think we're gonna have much of a choice. Find this really unfortunate.

Many years ago, in the first three or four years of the senators existence, I participated in a Sens forum online, and one day in Bruce’s column, he literally cut and pasted one of the posters, intelligent comments from a day or two earlier.“I know some of the media hasn’t done their homework”
I mean really?! His columns might as well be written in crayon. Half the posters on this board are 1. Better writers 2. More informative 3. More interesting.

Process is vibrant, robust, impactful, fluid, totally organic, empowered, outside the box, has lots of moving parts, and solution driven.
It’s a jargon driven sale

Do they combine for 5 billion net worth, ?Rocco and Astolopolous combine for a 5B net worth. Not bad at all. I take back what I said about Rocco if Astolopolous is an equal partner to him in owning this.
Hockey stick? Or some other stick?Their friendship is nothing to shake a stick at.
Early summer, according to his interview, until all is done and transferred. So, I am starting to think, unless these bidders already have some type of verbal agreement with some GMs/coaches that they would hire them if they purchase the team, we might be in for another year of DJ Smith/Dorion combo. I might be wrong, but it looks to me that could be the most likely option the longer this takes.Bettman literally said it would be a matter of weeks like a week ago.
If the sale stretches out to Aug, I suspect DJ is back, GM has a bit more flexibility so I could see us making a change there.
lol, of course.
I also remember that forum, we are very old.
Diverse, also diverse with great synergy.
I think it's because Bettman knows what the owners want well in advance, not because he forces his decision or will on a bunch of passive owners with something they don't want. Owners want to see their investment protected when the time comes to sell their franchise. I don't think they'll look at Gary very favourably if he were to make/force (or try to force) a decision that is several hundred million below a price they could have gotten. And before someone goes there, that isn't the same as saying the highest bid wins either. I doubt if Gary would last very long if that happened. The process of decision making is laid out in the NHL constitution for those that want to investigate. The BoG must approve the sale and history says that they do whatever Gary wants so he kind of will decide who gets the team.
You are great at inventing straw man arguments that nobody said. Kudos to you. There is a process that has been laid out in posts here that detailed the steps involved in the process. And recent quotes from Bettman said the same thing. That's (the process) what I said, not the crap you are making up (i.e., your last sentence).Lol, love how you’re tripling down on your misunderstanding of my statement…
And yet, here we are watching the league vet and pick the next owner in front of your eyes.
You still think the Melnyks are picking the next owner, which I guess is quaint, in a wrong sort of way…
