I mean, these "fans" were hurling insults at the guy. He should just laugh and turn the other cheek right?

This Sens board is so toxic. You all insult and throw shit on each other instead of uniting and sharing the love of the sport and team.

Slight disagreement, oh you're a loser. Misspell a word, what kind of uneducated dumbass are you! Some of you should be embarrassed yet you double down on the toxic behavior.

Personally I think Sparks group could win because they will bring real buzz and attention to the team and will push for winning. The group is full of folks who just win.

I find it ironic some shit on Neko bid saying he is only about the money yet the others, they are altruistic! It's bs. You all say you want change yet trying to bring in real estate guys to own the team because they care more about a winning sports team then the money in real estate...right?! Sigh....

I agree this board has gotten incredibly shitty. Been trending downward for a long time now. Really unfortunate to see.

However, if a supposed billionaire wants to buy the team, he's going to have to withstand some public scrutiny. I think all billionaires should be fair game, real or fictional. Trump, Elon, Gates, whoever. In Neko's case, it's fair to go after him because we're not even really clear on just who the hell he is, but also because of the ridiculous bullshit media circus that's supposed to wow people with random minor celebrity names who couldn't be bothered to actually give a shit about the city or the team. Lest we even get into his strip mall websites that are less than a year old.

Mike Spezza my ass.

When a guy comes to your door selling water heater rentals, you're supposed to close it in his face, not invite him inside.

Spanos should take the high road and ignore the twitter insults.

It makes him look petty and thin skinned. Only makes him look bad.

I couldn't imagine the 3 billionaires bidding arguing with fans on Twitter.

Social media is the muck to wallow in. You’re not supposed to pull your business and reputation down into it.

There is absolutely zero reason to respond on Twitter, and a million reasons not to.

Now the guy looks petty and reaffirms that this isn’t a serious bid. What billionaire wants his front guy personally battling it out on Twitter with prospective fans….

This is so silly…. Maybe They are just letting things get clownish to give RR some titillating material for the show….

Dare to Dream…… fuuuuuu :(

Need to get this shit sorted out so Dubas can come in for us. Gotta think Alfredsson will closely follow (POHO) with hardcore Sens fan Dubas as GM.

Ottawa's gonna be a prime destination with a terrific core and passionate management that love the team at the helm.

ya, he should just turn the other cheek tbh. Why should he possible care - or minimally, hope to achieve.

as for the rest (skipping the toxicity comments), it seems like a strawman:
I've not heard the accusation that Spark is 'all about the money'. 'all about finding the money' has certainly been questioned.

Nobody thinks that anyone bidding is Altruistic. I suppose it would be nice if they were, but the hope is that they have the pockets to allow them to run the team properly through bad times without tearing it down every 3 years or not panic if a free agent comes up at the trade deadline.

Nobody particularly is 'trying to bring in real estate guys...'. It's just a simple fact that the entire frenzy is a real estate play - even for Sparks. It's also good business.

They all want to have a winner. That's good for business too - for ticket sales in this market, that is crucial - our biggest employer cannot purchase or accept tickets to the game from vendors - unlike every other team in country. Some will do a better job at trying to build a winner, but we find that out later.

Dubas at the helm with Alfie and Spezza in the mix in Hockey Ops or supporting the GM makes me feel all warm and fuzzy, but I feel like the timing required to close the deal is going to prevent this from happening.

Identifying the preferred bidder is the first step hopefully happening soon, but closing the deal will take a lot longer. Can't see how that timing will work to scoop Dubas.

Why do you want Dubas? I havent heard one compelling argument. I dont understand why sens twitter and so many on here want him? Is it because he didnt play hockey and has a job in the industry so you feel he is relatable? I cant believe he asked for a raise from the leafs after so much failure. Mind boggling.

I'm not in favour of hiring Dubas for us, but he's pretty highly respected across the league, so maybe he's a better option than you're giving credit rather than people wanting him because he's "relatable" since he never played hockey...
