Sounds like the only one with enough funds to do what we want with both the team and a new arena is Steve. The other three can barely pay the asking price.

And we can take the Dubas, Kypper, Sundin and Spezza things with a few grains of salt. No idea if any are truly involved with the bids or what positions they'd hold if their guy wins.

Interesting…I don’t really see Andlauer going from owning 20% of the Habs to becoming another minority owner though.
I wonder about the business sense of someone walking away from a guaranteed money maker to the Sens.

His company, Andlauer Healthcare Group, a publicly traded company on the TSX with a current market cap of $2B, seems to suggest that he has pretty good business sense. Ultimately, people want the clout of owning an NHL team, and when you consider the growing value of NHL teams + the real estate play in Ottawa, you can understand why one would pursue this club.

Ya they likely have different visions too on how the franchise wants to be run.

Then there will be the big argument of who gets 51% control . I dont see it happening but it would be amazing. Obviously all the local investor groups would get ditched. Would be something like

45% Andlauer
35% Kimmels
10% Weeknd
5% Melnyks

That merger would add more time .. they have to want to get this done.

I would like to hear each of the bidders try to woo us, the fans.

Are any of the sorts betting agencies putting odds on the whole affair?

Kimmels were minority owners in the past too and they probably didn't like being selled out of their position by the majority. They may also be looking for a control position. Which would make this marriage difficult ,
If they really want that the team badly like reports suggest, it might be a case where they’re either sharing with Andlauer or get nothing at all.

Mendes suggested it could be like MLSE, where Andlauer and Kimels get equal controlling interest, but I imagine that could be a problem down the road.

Seems more likely that Kypreos knew how to be a succesful media personality. I dislike his media persona but I also know that that is all it is, a character. I am more than willing to accept that he is a great guy.

The piling on is a bit distasteful, we should be willing to give the guy a chance. Kind of nuts that other media personalities feel the need to vouch for him, our fanbase can be really f***ing toxic.

I mean, sure, but he's just talking about the person behind the bombastic media personality. Idk, I'm more than happy to hear he isn't an arrogant ahole off camera, I have no idea what he'd be like as an advisor on hockey matters behind the scenes, not sure his media hits give a lot of insight into that though.
