I would wager that Pierre and DJ will be around for one more season while ownership completes a proper assessment and weighs its options.

Even still, they would likely bring someone in to make that assessment and recommendation. Someone who’d be looking over Dorion’s shoulder for the year.

I think if you remove the handful of trades he was forced to make because of budget his moves have been fairly solid.
Even the EK trade that should have been unwinable was won twice over. I have not seen this level of excitement around the sens future since Hossa busted onto the scene

He has been fairly solid and is so underated. Norris and Jimmy for 16 million will be the envy of the nhl in 3 years. Jimmy is legit and Norris who is the same age as Brady looked a little faster this year and I fully expect him to take the next level step

It will be a short window tho every team in the NHL will be going over the top stupid with money for Brady

I’m not buying any kind of roster handcuffing here. A DBC contract is such a drop in the bucket for competing bids, and is really not a controversial signing at the end of the day.

I get a DBC hold up based on curiosity of future direction, but doubtful that new ownership would be worried about roster expenses at this time.

Maybe but I also doubt anyone is going to buy an asset for a billion dollars and choose to keep Dorion as it's head.

That's insane.

And if you're going to buy something for a billion dollars aren't you going to come in having done some due diligence and a shortlist of guys you're looking at to run the place?

At this point I can't stand this whole thing. I think if this group gets the team there will be no accountability and just a bunch of people trying to make money.

Reynolds group was about as much of a gong show I could handle but still get behind. Now this is just dumb. Love Snoop but I don't want him being the face of the franchise.

Are you saying that when Melnyk died, the value of the team was determined and the capital gain became taxable to Melnyk's estate?

Also The daughters would only have to pay capital gain tax on the capital appreciation since Melnyk's death?
Yeah. With traded stock you would have a value in the moment in time when it became taxable (Eugene's death). With the team is much harder. Expert valuation last year said that the team was worth 500 mil? Now it's being sold for upwards of a billion.

Maybe CRA has a rule of thumb for these situations, otherwise it could be a very interesting court case.

There is a very big difference from using block chain technology for fiat currency backed by central banks with deposit insurance & random crypto currencies backed by no-one.

Block chain is cool. Crypto Currencies and NFTs are pyramid schemes at worst and gambling at best.

Imagine this lovable man shows up at your door one hot summers eve with an authentic Gabriels™ Ottawa Senators Pizza with 2 types of pepperoni including the New CrispyCup™ pepperoni that sits on top of the cheese.

There's absolutely no way Dorion is ousted this summer. The dude's a pure charmer. There's a reason he's made it to where he is both personally and professionally. Havent you heard about his girlfriend™?

He lays you down on the chaise longue ever so gently while the fire roars in the mount so feverishly. Strokes your hair as he whispers sweet nothings in your ear while tonguing bits of savory pepperoni from betwixt his tooth and gum. "Come" is all he says and you do. And then you both give pause. You enter #Sens613 for half price appetizers and a box of Jos Louis. You both enter a night of pure flavour and extacy.

Governments around the world are nudging us towards a form of centralized goverment controlled digital currency……. And that is NOT a good thing for anyone, except those in power, who will be able to control the issuing and use of a digital currency.

No different from fiat. If you want something different buy Bitcoin.

Correction. Some money is there.

Fair enough. I imagine there’s a shit ton of leverage.

More importantly imo, if you sign him to a deal that we should sign (ie a fair deal) he becomes a more valuable trade commodity, DeBrincat at say 7.9 x 8 years will return more than DeBrincat on a one year deal. Right now he isn't eligible for a NTC, so signing him puts us in the driver seat for any trade, while sitting on our hands does the opposite

If a new owner doesn't like the fit, then trade him , any team we'd be trading him to would be wanting to extend him anyways, so it's likely viewed as a positive to his value going forward as it removes uncertainty for teams that would pass because they aren't sure he'd re-sign.

Trading Cat right after he signs an extension is bad for business.
