You have no idea what a fiduciary duty is lol.
not to mention, I imagine as long as a given bid passes the "filled out the entire form" and "sent a cheque" that they present all bids to the family. It's their call who they select and then forward to the BOG for approval.

Feel no shame! I made a comment earlier cuz Weeknd isn't my thing, but we like what we like and didn't mean to sound like a dick.

I like all kinds of music from different times of my life and keep it all in my Flac collection. Very scattered and a lot of it could be considered mainstream trash. The Beatles one day, Snoop & Dre the next. From Bryan Adams to Outkast. Pop Electronic stuff like Avicii, Big Gigantic & Griz. Eric Prydz's "Opus" is a work of art imo. Classic metal like Iron Maiden, Metallica, AC DC. 90's rock RATM, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Blind Melon, Wallflowers. R&B singers John Legend, Cee-Lo, Stevie Wonder. Other classic artists like Paul McCartney, Tom Petty, Dire Straits, Eagles. Various other stuff all over the map like Bob Marley and his kids' music, Chromeo, tons of rap. Insane Clown Posse being the most ridiculous of all. God I could go on forever.
Get out of my play list!!! though you forgot the massive collection of 80’S bangers…

Who the f*** would have thought there will be a billion dollar bidding war while we bum fight about Deadpool vs. Snoop vs. Weeknd? 2020s have been tres facque, but this spring we are living the dream. May the best guy fit for ownership win!

They will let family know in advance if they don’t think it passes BOG.

Don’t think there is any exposure/public outreach that could be brought by any of the celebrities that would be bigger than a Welcome to Wrexham style doc. Don’t think there is anything remotely close, which is why Bettman explicitly wants Reynolds in the fold.

Wrexham wasn’t even a footnote 3 years ago, now they’re one of the most recognized teams around the world, doing a NA tour with games against Chelsea, Man U, LA Galaxy, etc.

Different levels of teams and leagues, but it would be huge for both the Sens and the NHL as a whole.

The background stuff is what we pine for, this would be the most background the NHL has ever done.

I see you’re using the same math you use to calculate Sens revenue streams
New aged math you’re using lol.
Read carefully what you wrote

That’s a goal every O.O5 games.
So 2 goals every 0.10 games
So that’s 20 goals every 1 game.

Someone else posted to your post
I think you have a couple numbers mixed up here lol

Snoop and the Weeknd can do all of that and more
Snoop maybe but some corporations may be averse to being associated with him. The Weeknd has zero background on building a brand and provides zero benefit via association. Reynolds is cant miss.

I’m not suggesting anything other than GSP has a fiduciary responsibility to present the (Sisters) owners with the best possible deal/bid for their franchise, based on the merits of the bid.

Under no circumstances should they be offered, as the best bid for them to accept, is one that seen as the best socially acceptable based on any sort of DEI measures that are all to common these days, by those who would sacrifice ROI just to virtue signal to society. Maximizing the profit should be their number one priority, and if that bid also includes factors that appease activist groups, or other segments of society, that’s all fine and dandy, but it should not be at the cost of maximizing the total price of the franchise. When people sell anything, their car or their house, they want top dollar in return, not a lesser amount and the ability to virtue signal about who they sold their car or house to.
Well sure, but if the sisters were asking for a scorecard on bids that did indeed include meeting certain belonging initiatives that they are interested in then it would be in that companies fiduciary responsibility to consider that. I dont know if the sisters are asking for that. Or even if the NHL is asking for that. But if they were, it can also produce the best bid.

But like most, im a little suspicious of the Sparks bid and Snoop asking us to give them control. From the superficial info we have, it doesn't feel like they want what's best for us as much as for them. But we'll see. Could also be very good. Im anxiously awaiting the details.

A Wrexham type inner access story would be great for us. We love that stuff. I wonder if it will catch on outside of die hard fans the way the Ted Lasso type story of Wrexham did though. Maybe there is great value but im thinking it would end up just being for us diehards.

oh wait... maybe they'll hire an Indian or Aussie cricket coach who's short on tactics but long on folksy wisdom

He did build The Weeknd into a brand, if that counts. And unlike Snoop Dogg, he doesn't oversaturate his channels. On Instagram, Snoop Dogg promotes five different things a day. He's all over the place. I have no doubt he would talk about the Senators as an owner, but it would be one of many, many things he's promoting on any given day.

I think the bigger question with The Weeknd is what level of involvement does he want to have? We haven't heard anything from him in this process, but that's consistent with the Kimel's bid. What remains to be seen is whether The Weeknd plans to be actively involved as a face of the Senators, or is looking to be a more silent investor. I suspect, based on how he operates and how controlled he is with his persona/brand, that it will be closer to the latter.

Including posting World Star fight videos, lol. It's hilarious how much further ahead Reynolds is in terms of marketing.

Welcome to Ottawa would be huge. I've heard from multiple people that they got into F1 through the Netflix series. That is the biggest benefit of Reynolds. Although I think it would be awesome and hilarious if Snoop was involved to. He would pop up on screen and say something like "Welcome to Ottawa for shizzle my nizzle".

If a WtW style show could be done by Reynolds on the Senators, it could turn the franchise into a global brand and drive huge attention to the league outside of North America.

Snoop or The Weekend can't do that. Their effect would be more like Matthew Perry wearing a Sens jersey on Friends.

Assen na yo!
