Sometimes music is mainstream because it is actually good. It’s fun to hate on Drake but there is a reason people choose to listen to his music. The weeknd after hours album is one of the best pieces of music I have listened to in my life.
I listen to all sorts of shit from j-pop, alternative rock, to indie bands, rap and hip hop obviously takes it but there’s no bias in it for me the weeknd is truly a special musician.

The fact that no one here can confidently share what they listen to is telling
Well that would open them up to criticism and that's only fun when you're the one dishing it out.
Now get off their lawns!

The Weeknd: 75 million records sold, 4 Grammy nods, an Oscar nod, headlined a Superbowl halftime show.

HFSens: Who? If it ain't played on CHEZ, I'm not interested!

There is probably a good reason why Bettman wasn’t happy with him joining Remington.

Makes sense that Reynolds may still have an interest. Wasn't his idea to withdraw, I'm sure.

Feel no shame! I made a comment earlier cuz Weeknd isn't my thing, but we like what we like and didn't mean to sound like a dick.

I like all kinds of music from different times of my life and keep it all in my Flac collection. Very scattered and a lot of it could be considered mainstream trash. The Beatles one day, Snoop & Dre the next. From Bryan Adams to Outkast. Pop Electronic stuff like Avicii, Big Gigantic & Griz. Eric Prydz's "Opus" is a work of art imo. Classic metal like Iron Maiden, Metallica, AC DC. 90's rock RATM, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Blind Melon, Wallflowers. R&B singers John Legend, Cee-Lo, Stevie Wonder. Other classic artists like Paul McCartney, Tom Petty, Dire Straits, Eagles. Various other stuff all over the map like Bob Marley and his kids' music, Chromeo, tons of rap. Insane Clown Posse being the most ridiculous of all. God I could go on forever.

.... Your point is? Drake is shyte and he's huge, same with Nickleback and the list goes on and on.

Big music is just marketing with make up. It has nothing to with quality, it is just volume.
What would you prefer more for the Ottawa Senators? An ownership group that knows marketing and can market itself or an ownership group that makes good music? I know one of these skills can be be transferrable to running a successful NHL team and the other not so much.

I could believe the sisters would be signalling to sell to a group that would have progressive ideas about minority ownership and native reconciliation. That probably would be virtuous. Surely you wouldn’t be suggesting that by reason of the fact it isn’t sold to a rich white billionaire it is not merit based? Even if this was as you suggest, some sort of DEI initiative, it would seem to be lacking a lot of imagination to not be able to see great potential for such a bid to do far better than others might. Instead of seeing at as some sort of lesser decision. Especially after seeing the dreadful quality of the supposedly merit based decisions of the past.

The Wrexham story was a great one. It had the right conditions for it. I dont see those same conditions or story making ability from the Sens.

I’m not suggesting anything other than GSP has a fiduciary responsibility to present the (Sisters) owners with the best possible deal/bid for their franchise, based on the merits of the bid.

Under no circumstances should they be offered, as the best bid for them to accept, is one that seen as the best socially acceptable based on any sort of DEI measures that are all to common these days, by those who would sacrifice ROI just to virtue signal to society. Maximizing the profit should be their number one priority, and if that bid also includes factors that appease activist groups, or other segments of society, that’s all fine and dandy, but it should not be at the cost of maximizing the total price of the franchise. When people sell anything, their car or their house, they want top dollar in return, not a lesser amount and the ability to virtue signal about who they sold their car or house to.

It was reported that some of the potential buyers may be content to stay in Kanata. I wonder whether plans for a new arena will factor into the decision of selecting a winner.

I don't see why anyone would want to do that. A big part of the renewed interest in the team is the thought of a young, up and coming team moving downtown and having a real entertainment and nightlife center in the middle of the city. Make going to the game an event.

You have no idea what a fiduciary duty is lol.

Just hilarious how long this is taking lol.

Bettman has succeeded in creating a bidding war for a team that some thought was a tough sell operating in this city. Hockey franchise aside, the bidders are looking at the real-estate opportunities that will make this whole thing very profitable for them. With so many players and variables, there has to be due process that takes requisite time.

Everything I have heard or read is saying we should hear news within the next few weeks (or by early June) about the winning bid.

I assume the bidders already made the 5% deposit? This guy’s resume seems to be “throwing shit at the wall and see what works”. Probably a crypto guy who somehow carnied his way into the pockets of some very rich people.
