Gallagher doesn't see ice for the first half of the first period vs Sweden and then the first thing he does is take a needless penalty in the offensive zone...DEAD Wood, staple his butt to the bench...

Reinhart and Domi hooked up for a sweet goal like 11 seconds after that Swede timeout...But yeah...

Larkin's dah Man...Heck he was excellent for team red white n blue even as a fresh faced college kid in last yr's WC :amazed:

and that's the only thing that pair has done all tournament long. Correction. Reinhart had 1 shift where he made a dump and chase and beat his defender to the puck. but yeah, you can have that. I'll take Larkin's 2 goals and 5 assists over Domi/Reinhart's combined 1 goal 3 assists. But all will be forgiven if Domi McDavid Reinhart as a troika go guns blazing in the next 2 games.

I think that Domi looked really good in his limited ice-time, when he was on the ice (which was not often), he was all over the ice, you could see his energy on every shift, really fun player to watch. Wanted Flyers to draft him. :(

Reinhart's a really heady/smart player...Thought he shoulda been named MVP ( over Domi ) at 2015 World Juniors...

hey, I'm a Domi fan, but I'm not in favor of naming several of these inexperienced players to play the limited roles they were put in... They don't know how do it... If you are going to go young, then go young and make them the key players i.e. Laine for Finland. Otherwise, a player like Adam Henrique who had a good year for NJ. would have been a better option. just my opinion on how to build a team. Not sure if Henrique was asked and declined. no idea. but I wanted Henrique on the roster.

I agree with you, I was looking for Henrique too, in my projected rosters before the WHC. And I assumed that they will pick only 1 of Reinhart, Domi, Duclair.

I'll take 1 of the 2 back next year and the other young rookie I'd like to see next year is Mitch Marner. Holy Smokes has he ever dominated this year's OHL playoffs and played another wow game last night to open the Memorial Cup. but other than that I'd like to see the 2015 Prague Team Canada 2.0.

I hope McDavid is playing in the playoffs next year and unavailable.

I'd gladly kick Gallagher off this team in favor of Larkin. I'd take Larkin over Domi and Reinhart as well...haven't been particularly impressed with either at this tournament. but they play a limited role and I'd expect them to be better in future tournaments.

I've been unimpressed by Larkin in the tournament. He has wheels but he makes so many bad plays and just seems to have his feet going faster than his brain.

As it was said earlier in the thread it'll be on your local Comcast Sports Net channel[CSN Chicago Plus in the Chicago area]

John Hynes has Larkin on the third line with Motte and Compher and Schroeder is on the top line as well as Fasching on the second line. Unreal. He couldn't have come up with worse line combinations. Larkin has been their best forward all tournament and gets put with 2 players who can't make any plays with the puck and rarely touch the puck. Cannot see the logic in these moves at all

I am at a loss of words.

But I will take it. I want us to beat Finland in the Final tomorrow and this just makes it easier. No miracles on ice here, guys :handclap:

USA line chart:

Foligno - Matthews - Schroeder
Vatrano - Nelson - Fasching
Motte - Larkin - Compher
Maroon - Hendricks - Wood
Hinostroza

Hanifin - Wideman
McCabe - Murphy
Warsofsky - Skjei
Santini

Kinkaid
Condon

I think they will stream it on NBC sports similar to the Finland vs. Russia game...you know because Golf probably.

NBC is under contract to cover the Preakness. So no it's not golf because NBC owns the Golf channel. If the US-Canada game were the earlier game, of the two games, it would have been on TV and the NBC app.

really?
Canada rolls 4 freaking scoring lines at you, you have to adjust lines and set some balance out there.

Moving Larkin down to play with his Michigan boys makes sense and allows us to have 3 lines with a star type player on it. I am sure it will change throughout the game but overloading one line is great when you play the Czechs, but against Canada that will get you slaughtered.

This is the only logical option we can do to try and survive the depth of Canada.

One line doesn't win it, the team has to win it.
