Regarding McDavid, the thing I've noticed with him, especially in this game, is that he seems to defer to others a lot. Not unexpected from a teenager on a team like Canada, but it would probably be better for the team if he tried to impose his will more.

That's one thing I've liked with Matthews, and Laine for that matter. They have both made good use of their abilities, and taken the right decisions despite being youth on a big stage.

That's in no way a comment about Matthews and Laine vs McDavid.

That's Connor's personality - super nice teammate/guy. He defers to others.

That's why all these opinions of him wanting to bolt to Toronto are laughable. He's just not that type of person.

It's also why Maroon/Kassian/Hendricks are needed on the Oilers... they are a bit closer to the psycho-hockey-player spectrum.

Corey Perry's days with Olympic Canada are over.

He's never going to be an Olympic team again, the game has progressed and he won't be able to keep up.

Nah, the line chemistry on Team Canada is BELOW zero. Perry would do well with big forward like Getzlaf or Thornton or Couturier. He scores dirty goals up close and not on the rush. Him and Hall are just a bad combo.

international game is so weak...just because the guy gets hurt they throw a 10 minute on him. 2 minute penalty fine, but the 10 is beyond stupid.

"Checking from behind" comes with an automatic 10 min misconduct.

McDavid has been disappointing. Whether it's because coaching, linemates or the guy himself (injuries somewhat still affecting) but he hasn't been good enough.
