Well I expect the Russians to play their best and if Petan and McDavid didn't play today this game I think it would have gone to OT.

Just don't want to lose, and I don't need to wait for the loss to examine why it went wrong again, when the weakness are right in front of some of our eyes. -everything is speculative of course-

OT? I dont think so buddy

If Godla didn't stand on his head it would have been 10-1. Why are we supposed to ignore our best players' great performances but act as though Godla always has the game of his life? The first was fairly even but we completely and utterly dominated them in the 2nd in the 3rd. OT would have been a shocking result considering the balance of play.

Fucale made 3 huge stops to keep the game 1-0 (in the first and second periods). The goal that beat him was nearly impossible to stop. The pass went through the dman and right onto the stick of the other Slovak. Can't fault Fucale at all.

What people have to remember is that when you are playing goal and not seeing shots, its hard to stay both focussed and have feel. Fucale did well the entire tournament.

But of course, if Canada wins Gold tomorrow, Fucale will only be the beneficiary of playing behind a dominant defense/roster. If they lose gold, it will be Fucale's fault. So hopefully Canada can win so that Fucale can escape this tourny unscathed. Poor kid has no one pulling for him.

other side of the coin, it could have been an upset, balance

poster above, agreed, no matter what I don't think our forwards are going to be the blame for the loss at this point

His only misstep was the disallowed goal, he has to be able to bottle up that puck and prevent the rebound. Sadly people on here seem to remember that one mistake more than the big (and quality) saves he made tonight.

Which was kicked in, and wasn't a goal. When Canada's defense melts down, they really melt down. The 2 goals that beat Fucale in this tournament were not his fault.

Reminds me of the shutout by Price in the Olympics gold medal game. He could have done better with his rebounds, said some Nucks fans!

I think he has a point thOugh. We were very inconsistent Today. For a team that brags depth on every line, the great passes and scoRing chances just weren't bEing created Today as they have been throUghout the rest of the tourney. I don't know if it's an adjustment to loSing Fabbri or if we've just been spoiled so much thus far. I just hope that whatever it was, it's out of our system now so that we can take on Russia full force

Bowey had two terrible defensive plays that led to Slovakia's goal and a breakaway. He needs to play a more controlled game.

Wonder if coach will let Virtanen off his leash a bit tomorrow, he's been extremely passive these last few games.

Might against a very high pressure Russian team. On the other hand, everything Groulx has done and asked his players to do has worked so far so I wouldn't expect (or even want) him to change a thing. Winning gold > rooting for prospects at this stage.

I like Virtanen's straight line speed and zone entry, I hope he can make cleaner setup passes or shots on net because we'll need him to open up the ice in front of the net for some dirty rebounds.

I feel like Jets fans would rather see Fucale fall flat on his face, then actually seeing Canada win. Kind of sad to be honest.

Dude must have missed the post of last years 2014 world Jr youtube I just posted, been there done that so that isn't it.

Comrie will be in net tomorrow if we intend to actually win gold, saying it now. Anyone with a memory span of over one year will agree.

You literally posted that an hour ago.

McDavid 6 pts in last two games  Gauthier's line was very good too.

Now let's beat those Russians. A 2011 revenge!
