I really wish Canada wasn’t wearing black. I’ve never understood that.

What’s wrong with just the simple and iconic red & white?

Y’know, Canada’s national colours?

Finland is actually a very inspiring hockey country. They are proof that, at 5.5 million, population means very little when it comes to what makes a strong hockey nation. Its 99% about how they train and develop players.

Heavy wave after wave forecheck arriving with bad intentions
That's great and of course needed but I also want us supporting each other in the defensive zone, shot blocks, the whole meal deal.....................I want winning type style hockey.

The offence and skill shines after it’s a dual approached attack.

Get in their heads early and use physicality to allow our speed and skill to take over.

Finland is ridiculously impressive. I posted this on the Czech thread...

Czechs and Finns were both medal-less for about a decade (2005 to whenever Finland medalled) but since Finlnad medalled they've been on a rocket ship of first round picks, gold medals etc. Amazing.

Who or what triggered this?

and don't say 'sisu'.lol

And refs are proven to be biased against black jerseys!

" researchers found that teams with black uniforms (e.g., the Steelers and Raiders in the NFL, the Bruins and Flyers in the NHL) were perceived as more malevolent than teams with non-black uniforms. "

Do Uniform Colors Matter in Sports?

It's a complete mystery, having said that I don't care if they wear burlap today so long as we win.
Very true my friend.

Let’s hope the boys come out hard and ready to take it to the Finns.

We play the Canadian way, I think we can beat anyone in this tourney. Regardless of the colours on our jerseys

Its the same as the canadians kind of. When your country is purely snow/ice covered for 8 months of the year, not much else for people to do other then play winter sports. And it just happens the main ones in canada and finland both happen to be hockey lol.

I'm assuming the first period will be wave after wave of Canadian attacks while Finns hang on. Second period will be closer to even. Third period will be something!

I'm not sure what part of Canada is snow covered for 8 months... Nunavut maybe? Cities like Toronto haven't even snow this year for more than few days. Vancouver gets very little snow as well. Maybe Edmonton which is the furthest capital city. This is a myth along with pet polar bears and no plumbing.lol Even Quebec is struggling with their ski conditions today.

FTR... Canada is one of the fastest rising nations in tennis for both mens and womens... that is unprecedented and amazing.

I live in BC, I cannot relate to this "ice and snow for 8 months of the year" haha

Perhaps trigger was focusing more individual skill in junior programs than finnish quote ''kaikki pelaa''
