I'm not sure what part of Canada is snow covered for 8 months... Nunavut maybe? Cities like Toronto haven't even snow this year for more than few days. Vancouver gets very little snow as well. Maybe Edmonton which is the furthest capital city. This is a myth along with pet polar bears and no plumbing.lol Even Quebec is struggling with their ski conditions today.

FTR... Canada is one of the fastest rising nations in tennis for both mens and womens... that is unprecedented and amazing.
Zero snow in Vancouver so far this year. 11C (52F) yesterday.

My home town has been in winter since late october early november and it never stops until april.

Perhaps trigger was focusing more individual skill in junior programs than finnish quote ''kaikki pelaa''
But somebody triggered that.... who?

For instance.. the Czechs have had the same people in charge for this entire 'run' of no medals. Not even considering firing them. Soon they'll guys like Jagr to the 'team' to give it 'credibility' (note: I'm making up Jagr for effect but it will be someone like him - Varada/Elias on our bench here, Reichel/Spacek on bench for men's team).

They're not getting it. Finn's did. I'm just curious if it was Kurri/Selanne OR, my hunch, just some smart hockey Finn who everyone listened to.

I’m at Le Massif near Quebec City.

Taking a little break from the slopes to watch the games though. ;)

It’s pretty mild here although it’s supposed to get colder tomorrow. Conditions aren’t too bad although there are quite a few runs closed.

Usually i could say the same living in ottawa, but this year we could easily make it to 7-8 if we have a typical ending to winter lol.

Started in mid november so late march early april is way to long.

Mt. St Anne looks to be rough! Lots of fog and closed tracks.

Massif, which is my fav btw, is a little further north and a little more in that snowbelt. I imagine, without looking, that Stoneham is in bad shape too.

I’m at le Germain so the apres-ski is top notch. ;)

Skiing is the means to get to the apres-ski.

I haven’t been to Ste Anne since I was in high school - but I remember liking it.

Usually I ski Tremblant because it’s closer.

We had a terrible November with record-breaking cold spells.

It’s been weird lately.
I mean, if you want to discuss this and international hockey in person.. just send me your address and I'll be there next weekend! I'm very entertaining and bring beer.lol
