Decent enough of a try, but a bit too simplistic of a look, imho.

Also, I'm not sure if highlighting one of the most unpopular climate feature in a market is necessarily the best branding idea for a team. It'd be like calling a team the Buffalo Blizzards or the California Droughts or the Miami Humidity.

Just kicking around a couple Seattle name ideas:

Seattle Rock (Double meaning, logo could feature both the nearby Mt. St. Helens/Mt. Rainier, and also the Rock/Grunge history of the town. Ala Minnesota Wild logo, with the logo featuring two things)

Seattle Sound (Again, referring to music, and also possibly nearby Puget Sound? Just throwing that one out there)

There's some Blues in the league, Jazz int he NBA, why not some Rock? :yo:

The Seattle Sonic Booms. Closest I could think of to the Super Sonics and they could use Guile's theme for all of their arena music.

Nice work Sub! I do think the color scheme is a little too "arctic" for me though. Gotta incorporate some green in there somewhere IMHO

That second has been done; that's the name of their MLS team. (Well, okay, Sounders, but close enough.)

Sanford's old pad setup would work great with these.

Well, with regard to unpopular climate features, Colorado and Carolina both embraced Avalanche and Hurricanes, respectively.

But by comparison Rain is just depressing and lame so I see your point.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.. some more constructive than others.. but should I come to expect anything else on this board?

Again I was just bored yesterday with a very slow day at work, just did this to pass the time, I never considered this an actual contender. I did it in less than a day, I didn't take the normal steps I would normally take when developing a logo or design, like sketching multiple concepts translating them to digital and fine tuning it many times. If I took all those steps it would probably take me all week, I just went with my first idea.

I also rarely ever do sports logo's and I thought that this would be a fun challenge, and it was. I know I didn't hit the mark, but I was hoping people could see it for what it is which is a loose concept.

As far as the Resident Evil Umbrella resemblance, I never actually saw that movie.. and a similar umbrella came up when I searched "rain" in Shutterstock for element ideas  but it is very similar to the Resident Evil Umbrella.. that was purely coincidental.
