Fun Fact: MacDermid had the same amount of points as Maatta in 13 less games.

I don't think the Kings had to give anything to keep Francis from taking someone else but we'll see.
 
That confidence crushing moment where the only person they took was MacD and there was no side deals.

And then you are faced with the reality. The Kings are just ass.


They probably took Mac the same reason the Knights took McNabb. Big boi who plays with an edge.

MacD is like top 3-5 fighter in the NHL

I felt like MacD was off the table when they got Oleksiak. That's two big rigs on defense. Maximum Overdrive style.

They're going for a Vegas type build. They want their capable fighters. Grundstrom and Clague aren't that good at all to veer off course from your build type for.


There's likely no side deals at all. Kings were near dead last for a reason last year. Shitty team. Not like there was a ton of good assets to lose.

Vegas seemed to have better options at forward for their expansion draft. If you look at the Seattle lineup up front it's not overly inspiring.

This initial roster looks like they could be bottom feeders.

We'll see how the side deals flush out tomorrow.

Here's the rumoured roster thus far minus Detroit. I added in Cholowski, could be Stetcher, I'm just guessing.

Maybe it should be a morning/afternoon show? It'd be like saying you're going to start your trade deadline coverage in the evening and then getting mad when everyone knows the trades.

Losing MacDermind was probably the best case scenario for us. He had the lowest xGF% in the NHL this season - I like the guy and his physical presence, but I think most of us realized he was a fringe 7th D-man at best.
