Back in 2017 when Vegas drafted virtually nobody knew about guys like Karlsson, Haula or Carrier.

Lilely a few guys you may not know about could play a large role for Seattle going forward.

I know the guy got tons of grief on here because a lot of you expect this team to win or something when Blake is losing on purpose, but the possibility of him catching someone in the open ice or getting into a fight is literally one of the only exciting things that could happen during a Kings game the last three seasons.

This is really nice for him, actually. A guy that has had to bust his ass just to be a fringe NHL'er gets selected over "real" hockey players. I hope he becomes a real fan favorite up there and that we finally get that Reaves fight.

And on the rare occasions he scores a goal, I enjoy seeing the emotion he shows.

What differentiates MacD from the rest of the roster (and most players in the NHL) is that he seems genuinely thrilled to be in the situation he's in. He just loves being in the NHL. There's something kind of endearing about that. He's the everyman I guess.

Everybody else on the team looks worn out and miserable half the time.

really wish this wasn't all leaked ahead of time, i'm actually kind of pissed at seravalli and them for pumping out the leaks

it's not that i want to watch a TV show about it but it would've been exciting to see a full roster posted on nhl.com to read through rather than a bunch of stupid tweets from someone who just wants to be first

He's one of the only newer guys that works as hard as possible just so he can be a fringe NHL'er compared to a bunch of guys with better pedigree that can't grab a role and run with it. It's why Lizotte is so liked and why Management talked both of them up last season.

We'll always have the Gordie How Hat Trick during the seven game winning streak to end the 2020 season, a stretch of hockey that was probably the brightest moment for the Kings in the last three seasons.

His hit on Sam Bennett is probably the biggest hit I've seen live over my 20 years of going to most every home game. You know it's something when it is hard enough to give the guy making the hit a concussion as well.

I know this is probably "best" for the Kings, but I like him as a fan more than anyone else they could have lost today except for Quick, of course.

Kempe and Petersen look about as miserable as a couple McDonald's employees.

Meanwhile MacDermid is like "I'm in the NHL and making 800K? f*** yeah! Stoked!"

Only 2 reasons to take the worst player in the NHL:

1. To possibly get a better shot at Shane Wright in 2022 draft.
2. If Blake gave them a 3rd or 4th rd pick.

Possible third reason: They have something on Francis. Not likely, he seems like a pretty good guy.
