Well, DV is never black and white at first. People lie all the time. Gotta give it time to be investigated and determine if he is guilty. Punt god still can't get on a team and was completely exonerated.

Depends on if Knox is coming back this season. We haven't been told he's not, and Kincaid is filling in nicely.

That said, if there's a question about Knox -- yeah, inquire. Don't think he'll come here though as Kincaid is firmly ensconced as our #1 TE while Knox is out.
Knox is slated to return at some point this season with a possibility for the KC game.

I have been a huge McDermott supporter…but I still can’t get past the fact we kneeled at the end of the game. In the context of a game where Allen was just killing it.

The only explanation is McDermott didn’t trust Allen or doesn’t understand what he has in Allen. And that is really concerning. Also is consistent with his year-long talk about Allen not turning the ball over and taking what the defense gives him

Should the Bills inquire?

Not unless it is a PS spot.

Even if Knox is done for the year, dropping Ertz into this offense this late in the season is unlikely to add much over what Kincaid and Q Morris will give them.

Re: Miller/Allegations

I will say this is beyond 'investigating', this is 'warrant issued', so the police/DA have seen something that they felt was enough to press charges. So this is a little beyond he said/she said

That being said, there isn't much to say other than 'let the process play itself out'

I'm glad the woman didn't have to go to the hospital. That means the worse case scenario is the woman was hurt, but not to the point her or the baby were in any life threatening situation.

I hope justice is served and the truth comes out either way. But....until either charges are dropped or a plea deal/verdict is reached, there will never be much to say. I'm fine with sitting Von until the charges are cleared up either way.
I hope he goes on the Commissioner's Exempt List until the legal process has run it's course.

2022
First round: London, Wilson, Olave, Williams, Dotson, Burks
Day 2: Watson, Robinson, MEtchie, Thorton, Pickens, Piece, Sky, Velus, Tolbert, Bell, Gray

2021
First round: Chase, Waddle, Smith, Toney, Bateman
Day 2: Elijah Moore, Rondale Moore, Eskridge, Tutu, Terrace Marshall, Josh Palmer, Dyami Brown, Amari Rodgers, Nico Collins, Anthony Schwartz

2020
First round: Ruggs, Jeudy, Lamb, Raegor, Jefferson, Aiyuk
Day 2: Higgins, Pittman, Shenault, Hamler, Claypool, Jefferson, Mims, Bowden, Bryan Edwards, Duvernay

Sure, there are some first round busts in there. But my gosh, day 2 is little more than a blind dart throw. If you want a WR1, the higher you pick the better your chance of success. Not saying we need to force the issue and take a WR1 next draft, but if we're thinking about Diggs long term replacement, and one of those top 4 falls to us, it probably represents our best chance in awhile to snag one.

Sheesh. Looking at that list.....I see one guy from day 2 that's a #1 (Pittman) and 2 guys who maybe could be (Collins and Pickens). Some good #2s on day two though.

Regardless of how things play out, the situation gives the Bills a potential out from Miller’s deal, if they want to save $17.145 million and move on — and if the NFL suspends him under the Personal Conduct Policy before the start of next season.

That is a big IF at this point...

Just to point out Hill was a first round talent and would have been a very high pick if not for the really bad DV stuff. So if we include him, and then also include super bowl losers:
-AJ Brown, Smith, Chase, Evans, Hill, Hill again, Aiyuk, Cooks

That's 8 first round WRs + Hill on the last 10 super bowl finalists. 9 if you want to count pick 2.1 in Higgins.

I might run the numbers later, but while WRs used to have a higher bust rate, my gut tells me over the last 5-10 years it's become one of the safest first round positions to draft. It's much more volatile later in the draft, though.
That'd be a switch from the previous decade.

I did a quick look based on my criteria from the article I wrote. As with my previous article, I didn't include the previous three years of drafts, since it's probably too soon to determine a player's outcome completely.

Stars (13): Demaryius Thomas, Dez Bryant, AJ Green, Julio Jones, DeAndre Hopkins, Mike Evans, Odell Beckham Jr., Amari Cooper, Calvin Ridley, Marquise Brown, Jerry Jeudy, CeeDee Lamb, Justin Jefferson

Solid-to-average receivers (13): Michael Floyd, Kendall Wright, Tavon Austin, Cordarrelle Patterson, Sammy Watkins, Brandin Cooks, DeVante Parker, Nelson Agholor, Phillip Dorsett, Will Fuller, Mike Williams, DJ Moore, Brandon Aiyuk

Busts (14): Jonathan Baldwin, Justin Blackmon, AJ Jenkins, Kelvin Benjamin, Kevin White, Breshad Perriman, Corey Coleman, Josh Doctson, Laquan Treadwell, Corey Davis, John Ross, N'Keal Harry, Henry Ruggs, Jalen Raegor

Adjust up and down on some of the names, but the trends look like this to me:
- Unless you're looking at a sure-fire top of the draft talent (Green, Jones, OBJ), odds are that you're not getting a game breaker. Harrison falls into this category for me for the 2024 draft.
- Anywhere a team picks, the odds are in the thirds. 1/3 shot of getting a star receiver, 1/3 shot of getting a good-to-average receiver, 1/3 shot of getting a bust.

There's are some names in there that you'd probably move up or down, and admittedly I didn't have a metric, just my judgement. The overall hit rate of receivers in the next decade after what I did previously is higher, but there aren't many more sure-fire elite receivers.

While the term exonerated is fair and proper, the adverb "completely" perhaps adds a stronger connotation than warranted in the Araiza case. Police found there was insufficient evidence to press charges. American jurisprudence, correctly applied, acknowledges some fraction of guilty and some fraction of not-completely innocent people "go free" to avoid the far more heinous outcome of falsely convicting the truly innocent. And that's the way it should be.

The logical semantics are meaningful. Criminally, people are found guilty or not guilty. To my knowledge there is no formal legal finding of "actual innocence" unless certain conditions are met, and again by my understanding, usually only on appeal, where such findings are further burdened by the legal tradition/custom that matters of fact in initial lower court rulings are generally upheld and not challengeable whereas appeal is instead made on procedural grounds / errors of prosecution.

In (Catholic) church law and approval of writings, the Nihil obstat and imprimatur pertain only to the assessment that the writing contains no doctrinal errors. Those statements are agnostic as to the absolute or relative worth of the writing itself. Similarly, there's a large difference in degree of endorsement between a Church pronouncement of "we approve", vs. "we do not disapprove" vs. "we neither approve nor disapprove". A statement "we do not disapprove" does not mean the opposite "we approve".

to keep it on football,
OJ was found "not guilty" in the criminal case. He wasn't found innocent.

Matt Araiza will likely be looked at by somebody. I thought he was with the Jets in preseason this year.

Hilarious narrative kelce. Whiny little punk.

The number of plays philly deliberately tried to injure our players and he says that. I'm laughing at you, ya cowardly doosh. Watch the film and the bills film if the amount of time teams deliberately try to injure josh allen alone w major knee stuff and he doesn't cry to the national papers . I rarely see any of that dishonorable shite from the bills, i see jets linemen rolling yp etc. nobody says anything other than fighting later.
Maybe kelce you are just too much of a puss to take care of ur own business or yr masonic pals gave u the narrative on the bye week to set up some lame dishonest narrative. Tool. Literally

But all criminal defendants are presumed innocent until found guilty in court. So a verdict of “not guilty” means that that presumption of innocence remains intact.
Actually, looks like his son dId it and oj is what we thought

I assumed weather especially after aj green just lost the game for philly, oh yea , that football move didn't count in bizarro football. May have completely trusted josh to go the distance and score in ot . Looked like a confident move that has been cherry pickd singled out twisted by media or capn hindsite to fit divide masonic stone pressure points

Geez. The details from Miller's incident do not sound good. It's an incredibly freaky situation when someone makes a habit of choking someone when theyre in an argument.

Also, apparently she had her phone recording in her pocket + police were called and when they arrived they noticed bruising on her body including her neck.

The initial details surrounding the Araiza case were reprehensible, too.

Not interested.

Although additional calamities may befall McDermott over the next month and a half and alter the organization’s plans, four sources familiar with Terry Pegula’s thinking tell The Athletic the Bills’ owner has neither the desire nor plans to make a coaching change.

The sources requested anonymity because they weren’t authorized to speak on the record.

Asked if there was any chance Pegula would fire McDermott, two of the sources replied “Zero.” The other two sources said they would be shocked if Pegula made such a move. All four sources have intimate knowledge of the Pegula-McDermott relationship.

The sources said Pegula still holds McDermott in high regard despite this year’s dip and doesn’t want to meddle with the strong working bond McDermott has with Bills general manager Brandon Beane.

I don't know. We will see what happens if those quotes attributed to her are legitimate.

Reached by text message by WFAA, Miller's girlfriend downplayed the incident.
"We’re fine," she wrote. "Things were blown way out of context. This is actually outrageous!"
She called the incident "a huge misunderstanding" and described it as "a verbal disagreement."
"No one assaulted anyone," she texted. "This is insane. And sad."

Talking to my wife about this yesterday afternoon, I expected the recanting of the story to happen. She is in a LTR with Miller and this could have a massive impact on his future earnings with his career close to an end after the ACL.

I feel bad for everyone involved, especially the kid(s).

I grew up with my dad being married to an emotionally and physically abusive woman that had substance abuse issues and you never knew when you were getting the nice version of my stepmom or the abusive one.

It sucks to grow up in an environment like that.

Oh, and the last time I saw her before she passed away, she hit me, called the cops on me when I did not touch her, later fell and gave herself a black eye, and then told multiple people, including her doctor, that I punched her and gave her the black eye.

Abusive people are toxic and I hope people have the ability and the strength to get out of relationships like that one.

But all criminal defendants are presumed innocent until found guilty in court. So a verdict of “not guilty” means that that presumption of innocence remains intact.
Of course, but my understanding is there is a higher legal standard for a formal declaration of "actual innocence", for example when the court, typically upon appeal, declares there was a clear and specific miscarriage of justice resulting in unlawful conviction.

Note that the presumption of innocence does not mean that one is actually innocent, merely that the prosecution is obligated to demonstrate to a certain standard that the accused committed the crime

It’s a horse of a different color semantically than considering whether the person actually did so, of course

E: here I doubt it will matter for the reason husko said

Bye week fun. Either Miller or his gf or both have control issues and the team has gone south since signing. Hopefully this isn't the twentieth team killer ( nicely timed) to affect buffalo past year plus.

Anyway more manipulation that is packaged as buffalo is undisciplined from tbd . These stats are proof of SOMETHING.

Bills Most Penalized Team Rank

2023 Currently the most penalized team in the NFL (and it's killing them).
2022 16th most penalize team *still in the top half of the league's worst despite the cancellation of the Bengals game.
2021 6th most penalized team.
2020 6th most penalized team.
2019 9th most penalized team.
2018 6th most penalized team.

I find it kind of ridiculous that the Bills have basically been in the top 20% of the most penalized teams in the league since 2018.
While I support McDermott as the head coach, they seriously need to hire an expert consultant to address this issue. This year in particular as the most penalized team in the league, penalties could easily be the reason they do not make the playoffs. Fix it now....

Poster screams fix. You mean it's FIXED.

Bills most fooked w team of the year

How about a consultant to get the refs to call penalties on the opposing team too?
