The dream and just about the only option that excites me right now.

The problem with firing McDermott is *gestures wildly at the Sabres* the thought of the Pegulas conducting a head coach search.
I said the same thing. It’s terrifying

It’s constant misery fellas. Both of these organizations. It’s always been this way and always will be.
Maybe appreciate that being .500 12 games in with an extremely tough first place schedule feels like a disaster.

Quite something to call 37-12 over the past 3 seasons "constant misery", regardless of how the playoffs turned out. I've gotten a lot of joy over the last 4-5 seasons of football.

Frankly even in the Bills state (where we're starving for a championship) I'd rather be competitive and in the playoffs more often than not than win a championship 1 year and then be awful for years at a time. Not that Buffalo's lucky enough to go on a fluky run like that anyway.

Why do the Bills always seem to lose these types of crazy games? We're always on the shit end of the stick. I'm absolutely gutted right now.

I feel like someone kicked me in the stomach

Agree to disagree. I want a championship.

Well then consider that being competitive over a long period of time is BY FAR the best way to win a championship. It's just a fact that it takes an extraordinary amount of luck (injuries, officiating in close games, idiot kickers putting the ball through the uprights, etc.) to win a championship no matter where you end up seeded in the tournament.

McDermott plays the softest coverage in these situations. It lets the other team move down the field seemingly at will. 0-6 in OT for McDermott isn’t an accident.

I think it can be simultaneously true that people have taken joy in the last 3 seasons while also realizing that we've left a LOT of meat on the bone.

6 one score losses this year (versus 1 win)
All 3 losses last year were by one score (versus 6 wins)
5 one score losses in 2021 (versus 0 wins)

I'm very much starting to wonder if McDermott is akin to Granato -- a great coach to lead us out of the void and to help develop talent.....but ultimately not the guy to get us over the hump.

Am I willing to give him another year? Yeah, probably....hopefully with better health (especially Milano -- his absence killed us today).

But it's hard not to be extraordinarily disappointed with *gestures wildly*

I wonder if Beane survives the team missing the playoffs, assuming McDermott is gone either way. He and McDermott just seem so tied together. And he hasn't exactly killed it in the draft in his tenure.
It happens pretty often that a GM stays after the HC fired. I'm pretty sure Howie Roseman was a Reid guy & he still fired him. Roseman is also on his 4th HC.

Don't assume that McD is gone at the end of the year. You'll only be set up for disappointment.

I can't imagine that Beane's seat is hot in any way shape or form.

I wouldn’t fire Beane yet.

I wouldn’t have fired McDermott after KC game but he hasn’t learned. That’s the problem. He is who he is.

My to interview list:

Shane Waldron
Frank Smith
Press Taylor
Ben Johnson

Sure I’m missing a few others.

A special night indeed

This weekend with the Sabres and Bills. Both breaking records in not great ways.

I think the Allen pick gives him one extra life

Remember -- McDermott was a true Pegula hire. He wasn't a Beane hire.

Beane hasn't gotten a chance to truly pick his own guy once yet.

McDermott won’t be fired this year. He could lose out and he won’t be fired. These failures will finally put him on the hot seat next year. Then all bets are off.
