Did anyone ask McDermott why Cook got benched by Gabe didn’t?

McDermott will spitefully sit anyone who fumbles, especially running backs. It is an absolutely stupid move that just undermines the player's confidence while hurting the team. Zach Moss could write a book on McDermott punishing him. So they trot out the Ty Johnson's of the world and take talent off the field.

Catching up so this may have been addressed but I think a major reason Gabe gets every break is that he’s so important to run blocking for them

Next year is going to be rough. We are $30m over the cap already and we have signed:
- 1 DT: Oliver
- 2 DE: Miller and Jonathan
- 2 S: Poyer and Hamlin

I could see Poyer, Hamlin and Tre White getting cut. Elam was a healthy scratch, and who knows how effective Miller will be.

So we have possibly zero effective edge rushers. Zero safeties. No depth behind Douglas and Benford at CB. No one tech DT and missing another starting DT.

Not to mention Davis will probably walk. Which is good, but we still don’t have a WR2. Morse very well may retire. Bates can probably plug in there at Center.

We are in for a re-tool year where we eat some dead cap, which is why it is a great year for a new staff.

The issue I have is that they benched Cook and Davis got 98% of the snaps. I think the Davis INT was way more on the player than Cook's fumble.

I mean that’s a fair question. I’m about over Davis’s untimely drops and that pass just cannot result in an INT.

Though, running backs going in the doghouse is as old as the sport! Not so much for WRs and drops.

Ron Rivera is an amazing DC. You get a former HC who can take 100% of the DC duties, probably get better results than McDermott, and allow McDermott to be the HC.

Good. Dorsey told the GM he couldn't run his offense because he didn't have the personnel. The GM spent an entire offseason reshaping the offense, and the results are middling. Meanwhile, your headcoach is running a MASH unit on defense, and still turning in respectable performances.
