Yeah, I said the defense would need to stay healthy for the rest of the year to potentially go on a run, but it's hard to imagine they can continue performing like they did against the Bengals with Benford and Bernard out.
....and potentially Hyde.....and potentially Poyer. (both DNP due to injury).

There's a potential that we're down ALL FOUR starting week 1 DBs and BOTH starting week 1 LBs on Monday night.

That's insanity.

This is the crap that makes it hard to really invest much personally as a fan into the NFL these days. It's such a brutal sport and with people getting faster and bigger, injuries are just mounting up. There's so much variance now that it makes roster-building less and less important.

Our window with this current core ends this season. We had a great roster that Beane put together and now we pretty much have lost the final year of that core's window because of factors out of our control. It's so utterly frustrating.

Wut

Garbage time is excluded. Got fat at the end of the Jags game, a few of their 2nd half drives in NE, end of CIN game, and a few when they were up multiple scores vs TB. It's enough to make a dent clearly.

There is your answer
Thanks. But ff any drives in the NE or TB game are garbage time, then I don't agree with that stat at all. I don't think anyone would classify any of those drives as "garbage time". Maybe what they mean is up by multiple scores, but again, that is not garbage time or anyones understanding of that phrase.

EDIT: Though I do agree obviously that they seem to have more success when down by multiple scores.

Injuries are impacting teams in the NFL more than any other professional sport.

It's hard to be a fan of a team when there are so many injuries that it makes roster-building in the off-season seem irrelevant.

Think I captured that for you in a simpler fashion, no?

I wonder if some of the success is due to the other teams being up multiple scores and it being near the end of the game. Meaning they aren't playing as hard defensively.

I don’t think so. Being up 12 points or whatever it was with 10 points in the NE game is not a big lead. The bills re took the lead in that game

I think the bills do better when in that up tempo, move the ball at all costs now mentality. It’s why they are so good at the end of the first half too

If that's the case they should be playing that way all game.

Don’t disagree with that! They seem to have big picture offense issues with identity and play style
IMO it all stems from McDermott. Their offense was it's best when Allen was making plays with his legs. Since Dorsey took over a lot of that has been eliminated. I believe that's how McDermott always wanted it. IMO that's what the issue between Daboll and McDermott was.

Again, that decision was made with Allen's longevity in mind. And it's been publicly supported by Beane since day one.

If anyone's been paying attention at all these last two seasons, it was the right decision, because injuries have decimated this team's chances of competing these last two seasons.

You simply can't go "All In" because it takes one play to **** up a decade of planning and work.

Your likely NEVER going to win big being this calculated and you drain the life out of your team as we have seen. But I look forward to those 9-8 seasons with Josh when he's 30 if he doesn't bolt for Daboll or ask for a trade.

I do agree with limiting how much Allen runs, but don't completely take it out his game. Don't do the planned runs with Allen but instead of throwing the ball away when there is nothing open take off and run.

My surprise was more so why the window is closed for the current core
