Prospect Info: Sean Farrell, C/LW, 124th Overall

Bob has him in the 20th spot at the moment. What makes you think he moves to 14 or lower? Cause he is a D man and this draft don't have any in the top 10?

How low do you think Reinbacher goes? 10-15 range at best?
Historically teams grab D early even if they are ranked lower. If he is the top D in his class, he will for sure go top 12. When was last time a D did not go in the top 12? 98% of the time, in the top 5 one D is taken. 1999 was lowest I saw which was 10th before a "D" was taken.

There is a new management here.I doubt Previous drafting history is even an after thought

But there is strong possibilities that the three of them will be in the line up next Fall.
Not a chance

If you look at the drafts over the years. Every year 1 "D" is grabbed within top 5. A "D" will get picked within top 10 this year if draft is deep with forwards instead of around 5. But surley no later than 12. Our chance to grab the first D with the Florida pick is slim to none. So if that's Reinbacher, zero chance we get him with Florida's pick unless other teams covet another D more.

We have enough good D prospects anyway.

You don't stare at the shooters eyes lol, do you know the difference between hard and soft focus? Do you know that goalies scan the ice quickly and often to identify threats.

You try to get as much visual information everywhere especially in a shootout situation.

You're doing a lot of work to try to support the notion a top end prospect cant stick handle without looking at the puck.

It's kind of embarrassing man. Take the L and move on.
Didn't expect to see a reply, but there you are. So now you're refuting what the university's science researchers are saying?
You repeatedly have said that goalies LOOK at shooters eyes, goalies READ shooters eyes,do you remember? Like the shooters eyes have a tell, hogwash.
Anyone who's played ice hockey, regardless of position knows that.
Are you aware what eyes are? they are a sensory organ, that's there job,to obtain visual information.
You find that a few clicks on a mouse and typing a wee bit on a keyboard is taxing do you?lol.
For sure for you it's embarrassing, not cool for you to try and snow some of the less knowledgeable.
Anyways,I don't typical engage with the ilks of you,not worthy of my time, so I'm done but before I go,here are few more items.

What do you watch?

Imagine you're in goal and an opposing player is coming at you down the ice. What do you watch? The player's stick? His eyes? His center of gravity? No, you look at the puck. Goalies need to concentrate intensely on the puck the entire game, even when it's on the other side of the ice. It is not fun to be scored upon from center ice, and occasionally that happens. Opposing players will try to fool the goalie with "head fakes" and "pump fakes" to deflect his attention from the puck. Some players even put black tape on the blade of the stick to hide the puck.

Notice how most of the shooters are looking at the puck? as is the goalie. How on earth is a goalie suppose to be able to look at or read a shooters eyes?
Let me guess what you're gonna say,the goalie sees the shooters eyes in the reflection from the ice right?lol

 He needs to take the L and move on

In 2006 several players complained about Ovechkin's mirrored visor, the most notable of those being goaltender Martin Brodeur who claimed it gave Ovechkin an advantage because his eyes could not be seen. NHL GMs voted in favor of banning the visors but that never became an official part of the rulebook”
So,another proud member of the knee pad clad brotherhood brigade eh?lol.

Lol

So you don't know the difference between hard and soft focus. Imagine thinking that goalies just stare intensely at the puck the entirety of the game.

There's a bunch of tells you would miss if all you watched was the puck. Why do you think no look passes happen? Why do you think shooters look somewhere and make a play elsewhere?

You think players are doing pump and head fakes to distract the goalie but it doesn't work because goalies only ever look at the puck? Would be pretty tough to identify the other options elsewhere on the ice opening up.

There's also the way that the blade is angled, the height of the stick after the release that give a tell on location and flight of the shot.

Obviously the puck is the main focus but to pretend that goalies aren't using soft focus, aren't looking for every visual cue possible to give themselves an advantage is so stupid, it's almost as stupid as believing Sean Farrell can't stickhandle without staring at the puck. This 5'9" top prospect in the NCAA who never gets hit just spends 20+ minutes on ice with his head down.

At the end of the day!

Him signing here as a UFA will be the best possible outcome... If he's somewhat smart he should be aware of it also.

We will be on the rise at that point and he would come in to push us over the edge hopefully.

If he's smart he won't wait until his UFA year to sign a huge deal. He'll sign a huge deal this summer, if one presents itself.

1. He could get injured next year.
2. He could have a bad year.

Granted, his value may not be at its highest this summer as he's had a weak 2nd half. But if I were him, I'd sign an 8x8 64M contract if it were presented.

Maybe it's more case of my personal pl reference than intelligence. But I'd want the money secured.
