Bjorkstrand has been benched along with Kartye recently so they needed something.

Burakovsky has also looked cooked this season.

Kraken season is spiraling at the moment
I wonder if they try to move someone given they are so close to the cap. As a Ducks fan, I would have some interest in Bjorkstrand.

In a couple of his games, he's missed his check which led to a goal and I think he also had a cheap giveaway that led to another goal/scoring chance. Granted, nothing more than anyone else had. But Tocchet has a guy that he doesn't trust defensively. It was Kuzmenko and this year was Sprong. I can understand if Sprong was frustrated with Tocchet picking on him when others were making mistakes but once you get in that doghouse with Tocchet, it's very hard to get out of.
Yup
Hoglander played his way out of the doghouse last seals . Got an extension and now is back on the 4th line after 1 bad game

Sprong is this guy. A fringe depth NHLer. I’m not sure how many more teams have to dump him or cut him or let him walk for folks to stop gawking at his “pts/60” as if he’s a positive asset outside of a few random hot stretches here or there. More than a few folks in the summer signing thread working themselves into a tizzy over his counting stats production…and yet here we are. Again.

The last time Sprong was with the Kraken, the team outscored opponents 40 to 21 with him on the ice. You're kind of overstating the case against him.

Interesting deal. Seattle must be in serious need of an offensive winger. Sprong does bring that but is pretty much a black hole otherwise. He a dash two on a very good team, where he had very protected ice time. He will score points in Seattle but he’s definitely not going to help with winning. Fun to watch race around though.

Lmfao. What is this winning you speak of?

Glad to have him back. The way we are going right now he can't hurt and he might help.

6th (?) organization switch at 27 years old. It's hilarious that people clamor for this guy year after year. I hope he finds a scenario that works, but it's time to read between the lines.

Aren’t the Canucks 7-2-3? That’s not a winning record? Lots of plus players is why they’re winning. Sprong is a minus on a winning club playing sheltered minutes. Not too sure what you’re arguing? You thinking Sprong is good?

lol. k. Bye.

I recall a time not more than a couple months ago when Sprong signed with the Canucks and was the "steal of the offseason" to some folks.

He's just not a very good player. Offensive skills are there, but the rest of it never has been. So it's all kind of for naught.

Why bother signing him if you're gonna trade him a month into the season?

To get him out of the room and away from the rest of the team? idk why they signed him in the first place. That never made any sense to me. But there's a point at which you just want to get guys like that out of the organization. If he's not giving you anything on the ice and is creating a culture problem in the room, just jettison him to anyone who will take him. Which is what they appear to have done here.

Yup and wings fans laughed at those people
