Bjorkstrand has been benched along with Kartye recently so they needed something.

Burakovsky has also looked cooked this season.

Kraken season is spiraling at the moment
Seattle should scratch Burakovsky and place Sprong in his spot or recall Winterton.

Burakovsky has no goals playing in the middle 6.

Seattle’s isn’t getting enough secondary scoring.

Seems really odd, he wasn’t that bad when he played. Weird timing especially with Boeser potentially missing time.

Kuzmenko situation 2.0, if we make playoffs this year I hope we don’t struggle to score like last year…I like Tocchet but he makes odd roster choices, Bains a nice story but he should stay in A all year to improve, similarly I would like the same for Raty & Lekkerimaki…maybe a brief call up while BB6 is out but then let him marinate till spring or next fall imo

I've seen worse players. But what I've seen out of him isn't what you want on your 4th line.
He is good at taking the puck to the net. He is good at getting the puck on net. That's pretty much it.

He doesn't make plays. He doesn't cycle well. His defensive game is meh. He doesn't handle the puck well enough to give your team extra puck possession.

Our 1-3 lines are set as they are . He has no spot on any of them.

He doesn't add anything to what I would want out of my 4th line. You know they are not going to light up the scoreboard but its nice to throw them out and get a good shift out of them here and there. Energy, Responsibility , Time in the O-Zone.

I think more than anything, he showed a willingness to work on the defensive side of things and play with a high pace on the forecheck. There's better guys out there for that role, but if you've got some time and a powerplay slot you need to fill, he's got more value elsewhere.

In a couple of his games, he's missed his check which led to a goal and I think he also had a cheap giveaway that led to another goal/scoring chance. Granted, nothing more than anyone else had. But Tocchet has a guy that he doesn't trust defensively. It was Kuzmenko and this year was Sprong. I can understand if Sprong was frustrated with Tocchet picking on him when others were making mistakes but once you get in that doghouse with Tocchet, it's very hard to get out of.

Wonder if he'd get a shot in the top-6, he scored 18 goals last season and could probably help them with his shot, and Burakovsky/ Schwartz/ Bjorkstrand/ Eberle are all starting slow.

Interesting deal. Seattle must be in serious need of an offensive winger. Sprong does bring that but is pretty much a black hole otherwise. He a dash two on a very good team, where he had very protected ice time. He will score points in Seattle but he’s definitely not going to help with winning. Fun to watch race around though.

Sprong is this guy. A fringe depth NHLer. I’m not sure how many more teams have to dump him or cut him or let him walk for folks to stop gawking at his “pts/60” as if he’s a positive asset outside of a few random hot stretches here or there. More than a few folks in the summer signing thread working themselves into a tizzy over his counting stats production…and yet here we are. Again.

I don’t think the confirmed signing thread is even a month old is it? Seems quick to me, but he isn’t a player you are going to go the distance with. A nice boost on the 4th line if he’s rotating in and out but not an everydayer. I’m still chuckling at the optimism of the Canucks fans thinking he’d stick with Petey all year and put up ~0.75ppg. It remains to be seen whether Pettersson himself will even do that this year.

He doesnt fit the bottom 6, and there's no way he's bumping down Boeser or Garland. Sherwood has completely outplayed him, and he's pretty useless on the 4th line.
