Avery said it was a steal of a trade for the nyr
it's like the ebay paper clip thing in reverseMan, this trade stinks so bad.
Can't wait for Borgen to be traded for a 4th and an even more meh player than him.
Avery's opinions are less legit than present day Stan Fischler.Avery said it was a steal of a trade for the nyr
Confidence is the biggest thing Kakko can acquire in a different environment. That pass on the first goal, would he try it playing for the Rangers? David Quinn made him sit for a period for a risky play like that. I don't think he ever got away from that mentality with the Rangers. A lot of it is on him of course, he had two coaches after that. But the first impression was not good. What a dumb sport where analysis comes down to if you play two more minutes you were put in a position to succeed.
The stretch pass? Schwartz was beaver tailing like crazy. Who doesn’t make that pass?Confidence is the biggest thing Kakko can acquire in a different environment. And Kakko was not the only "victim" of that, Lafreniere as well. He finally started to unlock himself last year with Panarin.
A guy who is afraid that pass is intercepted. There was a decent chance at that. The stretch pass? Schwartz was beaver tailing like crazy. Who doesn’t make that pass?
What if the 6th rounder turns into a HOFer? Gotta consult the trade tree experts.Rooting for Kakko 100%. Even if he becomes a 20-20 guy on the 2nd or 3rd line who plays solid defense, we lost this trade.

Kakko got top minutes here on several occasions and failed miserably. He refused to go the net. He refused to shoot the puck. His skating never improved.
Who plays 18 min without special teams?Out of 330 (reg season) games with the Rangers, KK only played over 18 minutes or more just 14 times.
Who plays 18 min without special teams?
Exactly, and if that is his ceiling, it is still more valuable than the return we got.He already was that 2 years ago
I believe this is true. Any other team would have given them minutes and PP to develop them.I don't know what happened to KK. What I do believe in my soul - is that if other teams with proper development systems picked Lias, KK, Kravtsov, to some extent Laf, etc - they wouldn't have all busted.
Coach didn’t really trust him and he wanted more opportunity elsewhereKakko was a useful player at an affordable price. I still don't understand this trade.
