One of the things I appreciate about Borgen is that he does things with intention. He may not make the proper reads 100% of the time but when he arrives, he’s arriving through the forward he’s guarding and his skating allows him to arrive quickly and with pace. That’s how Miller SHOULD be playing but he arrives passively or just doesn’t react fast enough.

I was a fan of his when he was in Seattle and I could really see Drury saying this is the type of guy who could fit well in NY for a bit of time. On top of that, I really don’t think he would be expecting a massive pay increase. Maybe something like $3.5-4m per season which is reasonable for a guy in his age range

I don't know how Borgen will work out long term but I do know we need speed and physical play. I have read he brings both so hopefully it does work out well. Maybe it will encourage others to get more aggressive at times?

Howden just scored and kakko watched helplessly
Kakko -2, under 13 mins.

Here's the 15th coach giving him little time on ice. I guess he is on for goals scored against...

In all seriousness, I'm not sure he's had a real practice with the club yet, but it'll be interesting to see if his time on ice continues to stay at the 13 or under pace.

He's not been noticeable. Early in the game, he gave McCann a nice cross ice feed for a scoring chance but that was about all I remember from him.

4. It’s been 4 coaches. And I think they traded him somewhere where he would clearly fail, that team has no direction and sucks. They did him dirty and you know they did. Over some bullshit comments. This team is literally the laughing stock of the NHL right now.

The 15 coaches was an obvious joke.. At some point, it's on Kakko.

Are we really going to blame yet another coach and another group of teammates? Going to a team that is not great is a way to get KK more time including on special teams if he plays well.

I don't see Seattle as a natural fit for Kakko but who knows. I think he ends up being moved a few times as a bottom six player, wins a Cup, and call it day within the next 5-7 years.

Stanley Cup winning Jack Johnson approves of this message.

Meh

I know it’s a joke man, but so was giving up on him now as this sad scapegoat. It’s wack, team sucks.

Seattle blows ass. No top end talent to work with, he deserved a team with better players. That trade probably could’ve been made with several teams. Assuming that extra low pick was the kicker. Again, meh.

Kakko still has a chance to turn it around, but he may just be one of those guys who just never feels completely comfortable far away from home. We see it all the time in sports.

Because I have nothing better to do, I was going through KK's and Hughes' games before the NHL. KK was putting up okay numbers in the last of his U18 games. 55 points was his ceiling.

Hughes put up 160 points in 74 U18 games before his NHL debut.

How were these guys even in the same conversation even by pre-draft standards??

The top picks in the draft go to some of the worst teams every year. KK is in his 6th season. If he plays well he gets the large majority of credit. If he doesn't he gets the large majority of the blame. There is no master conspiracy against him.

Is this a serious question?

Oh gawd I never said conspiracy and I’m damn sure not the only one who saw the bullshit he got put through here.
