Sucks it didn’t work out with Kakko but he’s just a limited player. I’m not sure why some ppl are bent out of shape with the return, what did you expect? He returned more than Pulijiarvi did and he was basically Kakko 1.0.

Good luck Kaapo, probably will end up a solid 20-20 guy for his career with defensive utility but never the player people thought he could be.

Will Borgen from viewings is not as bad as people are calling out here. He’s a bigger guy who moves well and isn’t afraid of physical contact. I could conceivably see a scenario where Drury took Borden back to even out salaries with the thought that, should the team continue to struggle, he could flip him for a couple of picks at the deadline and allow Mancini to play bigger minutes in the AHL until that time.

I will agree, IF the plan is to deal Borgen at the draft than you're right. The trade looks a bit better. There's some teams that are severely lacking at RHD. But still, a few mid/late round picks are not particularly exciting

If you can manage to flip Borgen for a 2 or 3 at the deadline, it's about right for a full return.

You're going to get similar or maybe more for Lindgren based on reputation.

The issue is and will continue to be player development. Never addressed skating concerns. Never became a board monster either. It's on both of them.

He looked great pre-draft. This wasn't some out of the blue draft selection. In a league getting faster and faster, he stayed the same.

I like that the guy Drury is at least answering the questions that have been hanging over the teams head for years. Goodrow and Trouba have disappeared. The Kakko relationship was over on both sides and he at least did better than Edmonton on Puljujaarvi.

Borgen feels like a right handed Mikkola after seeing how well he skates. Teams value you that and if he plays well for the Rangers he can stick around. This scouting staff has done well in the 3-6 rounds. Can always flip Borgen for more if it goes really south.

Thanks for defining it as a couple of years. Time will tell. I think he may have to improve some things in his game to do that.

For sure, I just feel like a lot of is is mental. He's pretty weak in that area. He's got all the tools. Man, does he have the tools. He's a super talented player, just need the right motivation and circumstances. IMO.

With the way we are playing and the way KK was going, had Drury waited another month we probably/definitely would have been looking at an even worse return.

Drury got the deal he could get and although we wanted more, market value is where he went.

Again, this place was full of Kakko sucks since this season started. Yet we expected to get a return commensurate with someone who doesn't suck. Dont work that way.
