Blue Jay Way..

In Canada, it's like a Canadian team has made to the finals and is being celebrated.
Panthers are all businesses this year.

That's what I'm doing, acting like Panthers are about to play another game tomorrow. Definitely not getting too high. Not reading too much about these finals.

I hope everyone is enjoying this nice break.

Lol. Messier’s assessment is basically, how can the Panthers match up to the Oilers rather than the other way around

Pretty much everything there is what Florida will need to do to stop Edmonton.

Edmonton doesn't need to stop Florida, its already a given.

Bet it would have been a different story had the NYR got there. It'd be how can Edmonton get past Igor, how can they contain Trocheck, Zib and Panarin. How do they slow Fox down etc...

Sleeping with Messier and having him whisper sweet nothings in your ear should not be considered a dream.
I thought he'd just been hypnotized reading the main board and now believes it🤣

I expect lots of goals on both sides, physical game on their first game and from their on, is all business.
McDavid, Draisaitl and Hyman are true power forwards, a different level of defending is required, I expect them to exploit Ekblad side of the defense, he needs help there.
Deny them entrance with speed is key, and push Hyman away from the net, he gives time and space to McDavid and Draisaitl.
Dallas shooting from the top, did not give them good results, our guys need to be next to the goalie.
Can not allow breakaways, that is a dead sentence.
Barkov needs to be stapled to McDavid and rush him to make plays, do not allow time and space, it will end up in the net.
Lomberg needs to be in, because of speed, I am not sure about Oki, too slow for Edmonton forwards.
Our 4th line needs to be in God Mode, it will go a long way.
Many expect A highly physical series, I think it will be on the first game, both teams can not afford penalties, they will be costly.
No penalties, please!

The way Dallas played in games 4 and 5 makes me think they were very banged up from the two previous series. Pavelski was done, Hintz was injured and didn't look very good coming back and they were basically playing four D the entire time. I think they just ran out of gas.

I don't think they refs will call a lot of penalties, generally the penalties go down the further you go in the playoffs. Plus we were very disciplined in the Rangers series.

Taking out Hyman is key and the way to defend McDavid is with the entire five man unit.

I agree, Dallas was not really playing their type of game and not physical at all, all of that plus the injuries benefited Edmonton.
If Dallas would have made it, they would have been as beat up as we were when we played Vegas.
Dallas had nothing left in the tank, that contributed to Edmonton looking spectacular on the last 2 games.

They did not look spectacular in game 6, they played 20 minutes and sat on the lead.

Besting the other team with just 10 shots, I found that to be spectacular.

They averaged 3 shots per 20 minutes after the 1st period, Skinner was good, and they clogged up the middle of the ice, but it wasn't until the 3rd period when Dallas finally started putting pucks deep and forechecking their D, and not surprisingly that is when they started falling apart. They were lucky not good.

We will play that style from the get go.

All the articles I see explain how McDLT is not only obviously the best player in the world, but practices the best, prepares to practice the best, accepts loss the least, anticipates victory the best, refuses loss the most.

But how about the video that after the edm WCF win, mcd carrying truck load of beer to his car 🤷

The only chance edmonton has is if Mcdave is so other-worldly to the point he has an all time legendary series.

I’ve seen enough oilers last couple years (through the Avs), that it’s tough for me to comprehend them being in the finals, let alone winning the Cup. From an Avs fandom perspective, I had 0 concerns with facing the oilers, but felt like the Avs would be dead in the water against the Cats.

I could always be wrong and was way wrong about Edmonton beating Dallas (thought winner of Avs or stars was a foregone conclusion in the finals), but I do believe the stars’ injuries and rough first 2 series played a big role.

I’ve read that Edmonton may just play skinner and mcd. Nobody else is really needed, and mcd is thinking of asking coach to pull skinner too. Even then he’ll beat us, he’s that good.
