Dale "build through the draft" Tallon is in shambles
He definitely made his good and bad moves but at least he drafted Barkov, which was generally seen as a bit of a reach at the time. He and Ekblad are the only ones still here from that era (and Kulikov too I suppose).

Unfortunatley for every Barkov and Trocheck and Weegar he ended up with in the draft there were too many moves where he galaxy-brained the team into bad moves

Not to sidetrack this thread, but one of his greatest faults was overvaluing his prospects and picks.
Understood early on in 2010-14 to hoard picks to restock, but after the success with the Jagr trade he should of let go of more prospects and picks for vets.
Felt like every offseason/TDL we would hear rumblings only to read a rumor he didn't want to give up Borgstrom, Mascherin or Tippett. Getting Ryan McDonagh/Max Pac would of been huge 6 years ago.

All worked out in the end with him being canned for Zito though.

That was also the year there was some talk about some in the Flames room being mad at Tkachuk for “always stirring shit up”, wasn’t it?
He won’t have a second thought about who really has his back now. But, I also think he’s going to keep that extra stuff after whistles more controlled, as he’s been doing all season.
He is not getting enough credit for that.

This just makes Zito look even more special.

In fairness, there was quite a bit of bad blood between them in that series. Might have started with the hatty he scored in Game 1 followed by chirping Kane by asking "if he needed some money".
