Call it like I see it. As I posted after game 1 they played a strong road game and were in a winnable game. Last night they clutched on to a 1 goal game that slipped away under heavy, sustained pressure while generating like 10 shots after two periods. They had PP opportunities but their greatest weapon has been shutout this series.

As McDavid has said twice now, he feels their opponent has elevated their game when needed while his team has not. The hard results of 1 goal (by a defenseman) reinforces their captain's opinion of the series so far.

I'm realistic about what I watch and perceive. Unfortunately game 2 was a slip back from a really solid first game. Going 0-2 is historically very difficult to overcome ... especially if a team can't score. Let's see what they have in game 3, at home.
I think they said Florida has statistically a 91% chance of closing it out now. Getting at least a split is monumentally important. Now it would have to be a huge upset to come back and actually win.

What is surprising to me is what kind of lack of urgency seemed to be apparent, especially on the part of Drai. Was he sick?

I turned it off and never watched another minute after Florida tied it. You could just tell
Yup, I assume you are referring to our inept offense and how the game was being managed, I hung in there a little more, turned it off after their 2nd goal, you just knew

SCF ceiling just like those sharks teams that knocked on the 2nd and 3rd round door then finally made the finals but lost. I feel like this is it for Leon, he'll either be traded in the summer or by the deadline. It's a shame, better goaltending and they could have 2 Cups for sure.

Not putting either of these games on Skinner though, he's been the least of their problems. Hats off to the Panthers, they want it more and we're here last year. Maybe the Oilers win the next 2 but beating them 4 of the next 5 games is highly unlikely.

Yeah man I'm sure he can't wait to get away from playing with the best player in the world on a team that just made the finals to go to like San Jose. Some people I swear.

People didn't believe we could win 3 straight against Dallas and we did it. So yes, it sucks that we're down 2-0 but it's possible, if any team can do it, it's a team with Mcdavid & Draisaitl.
Winning 4 in the next 6 will be the struggle.

“A series does not begin until a road team wins a game."

This is the lamest excuse for self-cope that I've ever seen. Absolutely ridiculous.

I mean, it started as an accurate thing that morphed. The accurate statement is “the team with home advantage isn’t in danger till they lose at home”. If the home teams win every game, the higher seeded team wins every time. The only way the lower seed can win is taking at least a game on the road.

Ima be honest, after that officiating I'm not sure how anyone believes we can win it.

The only team that I could see him going to is Boston if they ask. Thats a good team well run org that has has a big gap at the top for center.

Like I said a few times. Our offence only really comes when McDavid is in the ice. When it isn’t, our offense is next to non existent, our depth guys outside of Holloway have all been outscored, some by a shit ton. Like McLeod and Foegele.
Foegele and mcloed did get their names on this game

Foegele with that knee taking himself out

Gwg off of mcloed

Reminded me of Dallas game 2. Game winner off of nurse I think

Yeah where’s he gonna go, Florida? Vegas or Colorado? Because those are the only teams with more playoff success than us in the last 3 seasons. He and McD aren’t leaving now that they’ve made it this far, the window just swung wide open. Leon also recently said Katz is the best owner in the league

Bad officiating or not, being 0-7 on the PP is awful and there's really no way to spin this around on the refs. The Oil deserve to lose if they can't score on the PP.

My opinion on officiating is that blaming refs is for losers.
Especially when we've been given 7 PPs in 2 games.

Yep if our PP gets one last night it’s an entirely different game. It’s our number one asset it needs to be clicking or we won’t win.

4 of the next 5 but you can't think of it like that imo. It's cliche but it's legit just one game at a time. We've already seen momentum doesn't carry over game to game. If this team plays the way we know they can, they got a legitimate shot at coming back in this. Next 2 games are at home, if we do what Florida just did to us, it's a best of 3. I won't panic until we lose a game at home.
