I really wonder if his body just can't right now.

lolz, nevermind, timing is something. lol

Having a sports hernia is tough af, but gotta gut it out. It's the finals after all.
Kaner played 15:22 in G1 without a shot. Needs to be better.

That sports hernia is most likely restricting what he can do physically and really hurts a player with his style

See above. He landed some nice hits here and there especially against Ratboy, but he needs to be better offensively too.

Seeing that I mean it's pretty clear that Ceci is the problem. The only other guy's Nurse has really been paired with are Desh and Kulak and it's not like those guys are top pair D dragging Nurse up. Where's the Darnell from 2021 and against Winnipeg. Thats the Nurse we need to see.

Absolutely he does. So does Leon, who had a tough game by his standards. Kane did land a couple "shots" on the Panthers, so that's good in my mind.

The way he's looked he is definitely an addition by subtraction, but you never know with Kane.

Suddenly he'll get a hatty or something, so you better be sure whoever draws in is a significant enough plus.
We won't know the full extent of his injury situation until after the playoffs but yes, right now he simply doesn't shoot at all and his pass attempts are a disaster (more intercepts than an Elks QB). His hits are still most welcome so he stays in the lineup in case the rat goes wild.

It's too late now, but if the Oilers had played Lavoie (and gave him some more experience coming down the stretch in the regular season) then he would have been a good substitute for Kane. Lavoie has a mean streak and a wicked shot. From what I have seen of him he likes to shoot high. That might have fit this situation to a T.

I think you keep Perry for the gamesmanship but tbh I'd rather them just try a young player in his spot. Lavoie or Bourgault.

It's actually kind of crazy that it took all the way to the Stanley Cup Final for Ceci to finally, mercifully be scratched.

One can only hope he's traded this off season to save the coaching staff from themselves with this player.

I would rather they go back to Broberg /Ceci and Nurse/Kulak. Desharnais is going to crumble.

Outside of a couple odd goals, Kane has been horrendous in these playoffs. Hand grenade passes, poor defensive positioning and outside of the Vancouver series, a total non-factor physically.

The guy is cooked. Obvious trade candidate in the offseason.

Well, he has been injured literally all season. I'm not saying that the cap implications don't make him a trade consideration in the offseason, but I wouldn't put much stock in his play.

I don't know that he CAN play better given his injury situation. That is the problem. I think this might be one of those situations where you might need to sit him for the rest of the playoffs and just go with the guys who are healthy. Kane was never fleet-of-foot to begin with, and has looked very slow due to injury. He is still pretty physical, and I think he should get a LOT of credit for trying to tough it out, but it might be hurting the team more than helping at this point.

Then he shouldn't be playing. He has 0 shot attempts the last 2 games playing with Draisaitl

Totally agree with this. He isn't even attempting to shoot anymore

Finally Ceci is a HS but having to shelter a $9M D is laughable at this stage of his career and the significance of the games we are playing. That said it is what it is and KK at least has the stones to do it unlike Dummy Jay.

That said the 3rd line is a joke. Both Foegele and McLeod have been a waste of space for most of these playoffs and Perry playing with them makes zero sense. Youd be better off HS Perry for Ryan or better yet HS McLeod and put Carrick in with Foegele and Perry. McLeod just is out for a cardio skate, wont hit, wont engage, wont drive the net.
