I think so. The leadership that Kessel provided during the regular season was invaluable, and he worked a lot with Eichel in particular.

“Care less.”
“But Buffalo was so mean, I hate them!”
“Jack- be water. Be ice. Do not hate the temperature of the room, for it is outside your control. Now, how do you feel?”
“I feel.. not angry. I feel ready to just play hockey.”
“You are ready, my friend. Hot dog?”

Panthers look beat up and tired. No reason to denigrate their amazing run to the finals. Their fanbase should be proud of them.

Exactly.

Vegas is the better team, but they are no « 6-1 after two » better. Panthers are just dead tired because half the team is injuried. Not saying Vegas is 100%, but they are clearly more healthy than the Panthers.

These player are pros, but they are humans and they’ve just reached a point where they just don’t have anything left in the tank.

I watched 3 of the 4 games. If it was as close as you said, Carolina would've won a couple games thru dumb luck. You don't lose 4 straight by accident.

I had this same argument with Rags fans trying to say the 5 game 2014 finals were close. The math just doesn't add up

Of course you can lose 4 straight by dumb luck. This is hockey, anything can happen in a small streak of games.

This stuff happens all the time, it's not some big secret that there's a heavy element of randomness in hockey. A goalie on a heater will end your season just like that... it happens every single springtime. Bobrovsky alone has knocked out 2 of the most dominant teams of all time with a well timed hot streak.

You are comparing the points that those team got in the west playing against western teams and long distance travels and tough schedules and thinking they would have same point totals in the east? Does that sound logical to you? If Florida was in the west would they amke the playoffs? Maybe not
I’m not sure. But they, are in the Stanley Cup finals after beating some great teams and won the President’s trophy last year. So I’d bed on them making the playoffs if they were in a division as weak as the Pacific or Central.

Leafs should have beaten this Florida team. Bunch of goons.

Had the refs held Florida accountable, Leafs would have taken care of business. Shane we're going to get such an anticlimactic final here.

Carolina was better as well.

Thank Bob for this, with a Tkachuk sprinkle.

the cats took on a lot of bad karma that led up to them getting pumped tonight

- kevin spacey in space sweaters
- joel quenneville
- staal brothers not participating in pride night
- cocky tkachuk with his walk off celebrations
- radko celebrating in joe woll's face

Makes U think ...

if the panthers beat the leafs, almost a sweep too, imagine how bad vegas would have destroyed them. Leafs are too soft for the playoffs.

This Cats team defied all odds and made it to the cup finals. You pretty much couldn’t have asked for a better result from this squad. They were entertaining, an easy team to root for, and bounced Toronto in 5 (they are my heroes for that). You’ll hear a lot of shit talk, but what they did this year was remarkable.

I wouldn’t wish for them to completely change their roster.
Not what I'm saying at all. Next year we'll have more cap room, hopefully Yandle gets a regular gig on Chicklets, and, hopefully, we don't have two too many Staalsies to start, and Knight might be back.

I haven’t liked the way Florida has played much of this series, but they’re fully deserving of being in the Cup finals. They beat some really strong teams to get here. They’re obviously significantly spent and injured at this point, but nothing to be ashamed of. Three series of very strong hockey.

Florida was outplayed by all three of the teams they beat from a scoring chance aspect, possession and shots on goal aspect.

At some point you need more than a goaltender and your luck is destined to run out.

East has won what, 5 of the last 7 SCF? Florida is just one of the absolute worst teams to come out of the east in the 21st Century.
Keep making excuses but Vegas not only outplayed them, they down right dominated them and blew them out of the water and knocked Tkatchuk out. Don't make excuses because Florida beat all the eastern teams fair and square

The mental gymnastics is strong here, I can't argue with that.

It was 4 games. If this went 6 you might have an argument
