Florida played arugably 4 of the top 6-7 teams in the playoffs. Beat 3 of them.
Panthers fans are bittersweet about this.

Panthers did a good job though, they went very deep and had a very good playoffs as an 8th seed team in the east. Panthers proved that the top eastern teams aren't what they are made out to be. Just paper tigers and Florida proved that.

I've been calling Vegas to win the Cup for 3 years and it finally happened. If they would have snuck into the playoffs last year after getting healthy who knows?

i've watched their game a great deal, only watching the Leafs more. Their game translates well in the playoffs.

Leafs should learn what many of us have seen most of our lives, they will never win a Cup with our core four.

I’d be shocked if Vegas doesn’t win something like 6-1 tonight.

Panthers know they probably can’t compete with Vegas. But they’ll keep believing as long as the score is 0-0. Vegas knows it and they’ll want to score ASAP in this game to break all panthers’ hope.

My prediction: Vegas will come out very strong and Panthers won’t be able to stop them. It’ll be 2-0 Vegas after 10 minutes. Panthers will give up. Score will be 6-1 after 2 and the third period is going to be boring and just a formality.

No the east just proved they are at best paper tigers that only dominate regular season games. You can't even say Vegas would lose against Carolina or Leafs or Boston. Florida beat those teams and in fact sweeped one of them and Vegas has way more depth compared to those teams. No comparison when it comes to playoffs, west is just better

Florida was outplayed by all three of the teams they beat from a scoring chance aspect, possession and shots on goal aspect.

At some point you need more than a goaltender and your luck is destined to run out.

East has won what, 5 of the last 7 SCF? Florida is just one of the absolute worst teams to come out of the east in the 21st Century.

The thing is, this is exactly what Rod was awkwardly trying to get across. Absolutely nobody who watched that series would say "that was absolutely not close".
