bobs been playing great these past two seasons since we went from Qs run n gun system to PoMos defensive system, granted his god tier playing wouldnt last forever, but his finals play was kinda due to our team just being completely decimated by injuries + vegas being elite in every facet that year.

Skinner i always felt got a lot of undue hate for not bailing out the oilers mistakes, once they cleaned it up he started to look a lot better.

Both know whats ahead of them and i think were gonna get a great performance from both, which scares me cause if theres a potential weakness on the oilers, its him

It’s funny how this happens with goalies. They’re not left hanging out to dry, and the goalies start to do/look a lot better.

Florida forecheck has been oppressive in these playoffs. Made three consecutive bluelines look bad and I think they were all stronger than what Edmonton has back there. Knob is going to have to scheme up something special to avoid it.



Bennett was traded to the Panthers in 2021.

How would this matter? They both played 6 times against different teams, you can't compare stats like this and think it means anything. It would result in the belief Skinner is the best goalie left in the playoffs, based on six games.

I just find it funny to try and say a goalie was outplayed just because his team was so much better than the other. The word “outplayed” was used with a purpose to try and downplay Bob’s play this season.
He made the saves he had to make. He made them while down a goal, he made them in a tie game, he made them while up a goal. He was as solid as was needed.

This is what you originally replied to on this topic - "The legend of Bobrovsky this year is also overblown. He's been very solid, but people are acting like he's been a stand out".

Yeah, pretty tiring. Confident takes that will age badly abound - or simply just trash talking. The rational position is to be cautious: to my mind Florida is a more complete team and maybe a slight favourite - but then again the obvious and spectacular strengths of the Oilers. I hope for an epic series!
