I said they outplayed them. Not outproduced them. You realize hockey consists more of more than Production right? If the Nucks and Stars depth could actually PK maybe they aren’t eliminated right now. Unfortunately they have to make up for both teams mediocre top 6 and need to chip in.
Those guys aren't huge minuses because of poor PKing, so how did they outplay them otherwise? Intangibles? Because that seems like a marked disadvantage at 5v5 too.

I don't know the about the rest of HFBoards but I didn't think they're the 2013 Oilers, and I hate Oilers teams all the same. That's I lie I hate the successful ones so much more :sarcasm::laugh::laugh:

Ya but you're a former Flames fan. You and Canuck fans can hate us without reason lmao
Talking moreso about the rest.

Cherry picked stats of the 3rd line which has been struggling. But they don’t make up the entirely of depth. The depth of, all of it in total consideration outplayed the depth of the Nucks and Stars EASY.

It will be a great series. I do not understand this whole victim hood thing going on. It's really weird. Greatest player since TGO/Mario and Drai is pretty damn good too. Long ways to go till G1.

Let's calm down a bit.

Well then, you seem to be one of the good ones :)

Well, didn't read all those pages so I will screw the conversation with my take. I hope, that Drai from the first two rounds will show up again, McDavid will be McDavid and Skinner is able to channel his Dallas game 5 and 6 self.

Oilers chances may be slim, but I'm confident, they will take them.

Oilers in 6.
I sincerely don't think they're slim.

Most of the projections have this as a coin flip, 50/50 series.

Edge Oilers in overall offense, top 6, top pairing, and special teams.
Edge Panthers in overall defense, bottom six, defense group as a whole, and goaltending.

So are these guys the quality depth, or not?

Part of it. Of course. Or did you not think any depth of the nucks and Stars didn’t also have their struggles?
Why don't you give some examples to compare them to? You are saying they outclassed and outplayed them, I am guessing those other guys must be even worse, no?

Look what up? Are you saying what I posted was wrong? Because it isn't.

Panthers had 415 penalties this regular season. #2 behind Anaheim (439) and way above #3 (358). Edmonton was 9th at 320, almost 100 less

The 415 penalties Florida had this year is the 4th most penalties by any team in the past 10 years combined

Bottom line - they take a lot of penalties.

In the playoffs they have 69 penalties vs 65 for Edmonton (in 1 more game). This one is closer, but they remain a team that takes a lot of penalties.

The thing is he was also listing guys that are in the pressbox as though he were listing the entire bottom 6.

He ignored their PK contribution, and when called out he downplayed the PK instead of conceding a point.

He also was unnecessarily rude through all of this.

The truth is we have unsung heroes there like Janmark, Brown, Ryan. Even a guy like Kane plays a lot in the bottom 6. So the vitriol is just a bit startling, like what the hell lol.

Edit: forgot Henrique, he also plays in the bottom 6 primarily.

Why don't you give some examples to compare them to? You are saying they outclassed and outplayed them, I am guessing those other guys must be even worse, no?
Examples require watching the games. Can’t do your homework for you.

But here’s a couple quick hits. Best PK in the playoffs, and maybe of all time cause of depth. Broberg filling in for injured Vinny is depth. 4th line outplaying the opposition 4th line.

This. Both teams earned their golden ticket.

It should actually be a fantastic series. Waiting almost a week is almost criminal.

I know there is a concert in Florida Thursday night, but the schedule was announced before the Edmonton-Dallas series ended, so we know that isn't why. Had Dallas won, they would have had home ice, correct?

Sounds like those specific examples struggled and were replaced, easy enough to say.

You make a claim then don't want follow up questions, lol, your 5v5 juggernaut has some big minuses.

ESPN also has the NBA Finals, this is the only reason, that or there would be no national broadcast outside Canada.

Same here, both sides seem cautiously optimistic from what I've seen. Pretty much what you would expect from fans of teams in the Final.
I probably shouldn't say this, and it certainly doesn't relate to all non-Canadian fans, but sometimes it seems that if fans from Canada, or fans of a Canadian team, show any trace of confidence then it's instantly viewed at as being arrogant.

That’s what depth is. Being able to go down the lineup and find value. So far down they might not have been in the starting lineup for the playoffs.

Edited my comment to give you examples btw.

Sounds like the depth beyond who is playing now, isn't very reliable.

You give talking points not specific player examples, I assume this is the case because the stats don't match up to your presumptions.
