Those Penguins teams had PPG+ Kessel on line 3, they aren't deeper, not even close. That 3rd line was just as dominant as the top line.

That's only because the Pens coach chose to split the lines instead of stacking them. Oilers could run RNH and Hyman on their 3rd line if they wanted to.

Okay, so if Oilers place RNH onto the 3rd line they'll also have a PPG+ RNH on line 3.

Question is, what does it matter which line the player's assigned onto for this conversation?

mcdavid wants you to try and take the body, dallas learned very early thats a recipe for disaster
I’m not saying go run after him.
I’m only talking about that one specific play, instead of fishing for puck the D could’ve just played the body. He was right there, could’ve disrupted the last move before he buried it.

And their production would fall off significantly, Kessel/Hagelin were producing independent of Crosby/Malkin

Do they still produce PPG+ on line 3 ? No they don't

That Pens line played independent of 87/71, Kessel was just on the PP with them

the second someone steps out to play the bodies he dishes the pass across to anyone else. its why he is so dangerous. hes thinking pass first all the time.

To clarify, If you think all the Panthers have is this “dirtbag” type of play. You’re sadly mistaken.
For sure. But lots of their play stems from being the alpha scumbags of the east with no pushback. Let’s see how their game looks with pushback. Let’s see how Chucky and Bennet feels when they are scared to drop the gloves and someone actually asks them too.

Before the series starts, I'm not starting any fights with Panther fans, just like I didn't with Stars fans.
I actually like the Panthers a lot and really wish they didn't get powered up for a cup win this year instead of last year.

(But I will still call out dumb shit)

panthers d have combined for 32 pts this post season........ bouchard has 27 by himself - oilers have 48 combined.

but please tell me more about the significantly better panthers d

"Just" on the PP eh? RNH or Hyman wouldn't produce on the PP if they were on line 3?

I'm actually shocked at the arrogance of Oilers fans who are marginal underdogs in this series lol, it's insane, wish I could ever feel as confident in the Panthers even after all this recent success.

That’s still better option than the one the Dman chose on that particular play.

good job Oilers. but gotta wonder, can they beat a physical top notice team like Florida? I was going to vote FLA in 5 but took FLA in 6. I just dunno if their style of play will work against this team

Saying the series will be even going to 6-7 games is arrogant?

RNH has a pretty strong history of producing no matter where he plays, so I'm not sure how you can so confidently state that.

RNH has scored 11 points in even strength and the current Oilers 3rd liner Kane has scored 7 ES points. And RNH pretty obviously is much better than Kane. RNH has also played 3rd line successfully in the past.

It is good to remember RNH for example has scored more points than anyone on Panthers.

If stacking two lines works for them then they're going to keep doing it. But if they need to spread it out over multiple lines, then Oilers can easily have RNH on the 3rd line, as he's been many times in the past.

No he existed. The low confidence and meek end of career version of Maroon you played did exist.
So he didn't challenge anyone to a fight?

Because that was your point right? No one challenged us to a fight? Because it's extremely intelligent to fight in the playoffs?

And didn't we just go through 6 games of RempESPN?

If the Oilers can overcome Perry, MacLeod, Foegle, Ryan, and Carrick then they can win. Overcoming this awful bottom 6 will be a tall order. But the McDavid factor is huge. How huge we'll find out.
