I get yea.
But it is some f***ed up scheduling none the less.
I just read today that the NHL put on 6 games in June so far.
It's the friggin 24th for crying out loud.
I'll be on my boat checking the score.
Team who scores firsts wins this one.
it truly is and stadium availability is a bitch too.

I really wish they would start second week of September "yeah but then they're competing against NCAA and NFL" Bullshit. They're competing against those two in October and on. They'd be fine. Get the playoffs done in May, the ice will still be somewhat decent compared to the puck bouncing all over the place in f***in Florida and its slush ice in June.

NBA started a month after NHL and they ended their finals before the NHL, thats not right.

Have to feel Kane will lobby to get in.. who would you take out? (I wouldn't make a change even though I don't have great faith in stonehands Foegle)

What will Florida do lineup wise?
Why mess with something thats working right now. "Sorry Kane but if we're up late, get your skates jersey and gear ready for a lap with the cup"

I'd put a lot of money on Florida winning. They're too good of a team to lose 4 straight after being up 3-0... They're not the 2014 Sharks.

Also, they're a Canadian pacific division team in a game 7..
1994: Canucks lost game 7 to the Rangers
2004: Flames lost game 7 to the Lightning
2006: Oilers lost game 7 to the Hurricanes
2011: Canucks lost game 7 to the Bruins
2024: Oilers lose game 7 to the Panthers

The curse will go on.

Just as Edmonton turned it around after being down 0-3, Florida will do the same. But it'll be a 1 or 2 goal game.

Only chance the Panthers have at this point is to bench Bobrovsky.
Bob is the least of the Panthers worries.

Dude can't stop three to five 2-on-1s every game.

The oilers are punishing the Panthers forecheck (and their lazy puck battles) and their Dman pinch.

Panthers need to back their dmen off and take away the neutral zone from the Oilers. Not a hard tweak to make, but Maurice is too busy cracking jokes to the media to coach the team that "coaches itself."

No way I’m betting against Connor McDavid in this spot.

Aside from the 8-1 blowout, Mcdavid has 1 non-empty net goal in 5 games to go along with 5 assists.
He might need to have his best game of the series tomorrow.

A guy who chokes in the playoffs every year is the least of their worries?

This is gonna end the same way game 5 ended for Florida last year. A blowout of epic proportions

All the stuff about streaks and history don't matter.

What favors the Oilers is that their wins are more recent. It shows that perhaps they have solved the Panthers. Also, having McDavid as the best player on either team is an advantage.

What favors the Panthers is that they are at home, and that anything can happen in one game. They have it in them to hold a lead, and if you would ask anyone which team is more likely to have a player make a massive brain fart error, it's the Oilers. A Panthers win would look like them getting an early lead, and then the Oilers chasing offense and making defensive errors

I do not dare go into this over confident. It's a 3-3 series so there is no dominant team

3rd time's the charm...

Edmonton is the 3rd Canadian team to play for the Cup since Montreal won it.

This is Florida's 3rd Cup attempt - first 2 were losses.

**

Edmonton has momentum on their side and, it feels like, fate.

Florida has home ice advantage and a rink where the ice might not be great.

**

Florida has Gary Bettman doing whatever it takes, behind the scenes, to ensure they win.

**

My heart says Edmonton, my head says Florida.

These breaks inbetween games is so dumb. Sunday would have been way better than Monday for game 7.

Umm. Canucks 2 times. Oilers 1 time. Calgary 1 time. Ottawa 1 time. MTL 1 time.... Math is off?
