Even if he wasn't hit in the head, leaving both feet to throw a check is a cheap shot.
I don’t disagree. It was a cheap shot. Just like the cheap shots Bennett has been throwing all playoffs, including in the very same game.

Draisaitl is lucky he didn’t get supplementary discipline.

Doesn’t change the fact that the day when discipline might come down, Barkov status is uncertain, and then the next day when nothing came of it he was fine.

Panthers milking it every chance they can. Good gamesmanship, but that’s exactly what it is.

Oilers makes Canada look bad. Would be better if Leafs was in the finals instead of them. Atleast the Leafs have some grit. Oilers players are all soft as butter.

I will take that as satire....so I will add to it:

Toronto hasn't sniffed the final since there was only 6 teams or only 2 rounds. Oh, and that was also the first year the SCF was broadcast in colour in Canada.

Yes....the leafs would be a better look for "Canada", indeed. ;)

Someone want to explain to me what all those numbers are supposed to mean?

Eh, in the words of my mother "two wrongs don't make a right"

In Barkov's case, he isn't a certainty to play. It's a concussion thing. If he survives the plane ride and night, he'll play but if not, he may sit out for precaution. The head, neck stuff is no joke. Better safe than sorry.

Strat O Matic ratings?

Better safe than sorry, so they have him practice today? Mhmm sure.

If he’s not playing I’ll gladly retract my comment about it being gamesmanship. But if they’re actually worried about his health they wouldn’t be having him in practice on a travel day the day before a game.

This. And so easily tweaked/damaged. I think of the times where I just tun my neck to check oncoming traffic before crossing and the next thing I know my neck is sore as hell for a few days. And here these guys are playing the game they are....then again, I am older than any of them lol

That said, I don't think he's all that bad if he was in full practice today

Crazy fact, of the 7 Canadian teams to reach the cup finals since 1994, 3 of them have won the first game. Despite the odds being in their favour by 75%, all 3 teams still went on to lose the series.

As well, the 2011 Canucks won the first two games of the series, and with the chances if a cup victory in their favour by a whipping 91%, they still didn't get the job done.

The shit luck of Canadian teams in the finals is something else!

Oilers better come out and play like they did in game one. If they lose, I am done with hockey until July.

Even if Barkov wasn't injured on that hit, makes no sense to put him back on the ice in the dying minutes of a multi-goal lead before a win.

There was like 9 minutes left in a 2-1 game. The only people who think Barkov and the team would sell an injury and miss the rest of that game are a few delusional Oilers fans. Not going to call out the whole fan base, but there are some rotten apples in the bunch.
