Despite the 2-0 lead, as a neutral fan of hockey. The games have been fun to watch. WIshing it goes 7 games deep into the summer. Edmonton need to start looking for greasy goals. Shots at Bobo from every angle. Bobo is playing great, but I have seen him lose it in stretches. Stop trying to make the perfect play and just direct shots towards the net, and maybe get some lucky bounces. That is going to be a key if this series goes 6 to 7 games.
:sarcasm: Bob’s toughest save last night was the one on mikkola just before he went down and sniped one past skinner.

Oilers have 1 goal in 2 games and people are blaming the D? did you expect back-to-back shutouts?
The Oilers have top line Offensive personnel, no doubt. I don't think you can say the same for the D and G.

You do make a point worth discussing. Is Skinner hurting the D? Is Skinner making the D play conservative and not to their potential? Limiting the offensive opportunities? Bouchard sure doesn't look like a guy with 82 points and a +/- +34.

There seem to be a lot of missed passes in the neutral zone when clearing that FLA is bouncing on. The times they penetrated McGregor took it the length of the ice. Are the F's having to play too much in their own end to compensate? I don't know, I haven't watched enough Oilers to know their tendencies, but I have watched a lot of FLA. They destroy teams like this. Game 2 is FLA hockey.

As for G, Skinner is an adventure. The announcers were saying he has problems tracking the puck. Is he only comfortable with straight shots?? If you move the puck he is in trouble? No wonder the D looks bad.

The Panthers are building off of Bob. In Game 1 when FLA NEEDED a shutout, Bob delivered. How many times has Skinner done that this playoff? Bob makes FLA better. (At 35 how long can he keep this up?) Can you say the same about Skinner?

There is a difference between being serviceable and being a Quality #1. I think Skinner is serviceable. Something has to change quickly for EDM.

Sure as heck the fan base hasn’t shown that

Now we are seeing the same base defend that Drai hit when if done to McDavid they’d be on their way to burn down Florida
If the mains are an accurate representation of the majority of a teams fanbase, then every fanbase is a toxic heap of flaming shite.

And even though HF isn't an accurate representation, pretty much every fanbase is exactly the same. People whine and cry foul when things don't go their way, and defend their team when things do go their way. Of course the way you feel about Barkov is how an Oilers fan would feel about McDavid. Any fan of any team would feel the same. Which makes it all the more hilariously mind boggling when they start insulting each other knowing full well things would be exactly the same if the roles were reversed.

If you just ignore the window lickers, there's plenty of rational fans on these boards. It's just a shame there's so many people who want to clean your windows for you.

They need to focus on winning two out of the next 5. Nothing more

Yep

But at the same time you know Edmonton has zero chance at winning the Cup if either McDavid or Drai are out and that’s one major Florida can afford to take

League needs to step up and take controll of the situation before it gets out of hand

For real

Last time we saw Draisaitl injured in the playoffs he put up 17 points in 5 games, probably better to leave him alone as he’s been useless in this series so far

Seriously Edmonton had 3 plays worthy of major penalties and they are crying about how the reffs and the league are ….ng them over?

Not a damm single word about Drai taking out the best player of the series and getting away with it

But no, have to cry about how everyone is against them

Edit

How twisted does one have to be to seriously claim Drai did nothing wrong and Barkov is only acting?

its pretty obvious the oilers are in their own head with bobrovsky in net, the posts and missed nets tell me they have a plan to score and its obviously not working. the panthers are excellent at eliminating the middle of the ice and clogging passing lanes and shooting lanes. the oilers need traffic and shots to get though. this series isnt over by any means but if the oilers cant start funnelling pucks to the net and quickly it will be over quickly.

He does lots of standing around. He's lazy and entitled. Relying on others to do the work. Bad skater who has 1 or 2 early game clumsy rush attempts. Somewhat a by product of McDavid and the PP.
It’s easier just to admit you don’t know anything about hockey than write all that.

Why was Bouchard out for PK2 on the Drai penalty? They had used the other 4 D on the kill for the most part.. Were they gambling for some offense? Was it something else? He had played a tonne and the PK is not what he does. Lundell went through him on the entry like he wasn't even there. Something seemed off on the back end of that kill with two forwards left in the middle of the ice and 2 D on the wall.. Anyone have that clip again?

I think the Oil need to move Drai around a bit on the PP, possibly roll both 97 and Drai up and let Bouchard hit either. If he goes to Drai he has plenty of options rolling downhill including a drop back to Bouch for a 1 timer. You can run bumper, run a goal line play etc.. Need a wrinkle and they have the ability to make it happen.

Yes, and Florida nearly got it.
Expect? No. Not with this Offense.

But also the D and G didn't step up and deliver one when the team needed it either. Bob did, that is the difference between going back to EDM with Home Ice and not. If McGregor doesn't do it, it won't get done appears to be the message.
