Bennett is completely irrelevant to the conversation. Yours is the weakest of whataboutism argument possible. The Panthers could ice Jeffrey Dahmer and its still an elbow from Drai and a suspension worthy play.

It's not completely irrelevant when it comes to discussing a possible suspension though. If several other dirty plays have happened without supplemental discipline, what makes this incident different in that it would?

It SHOULD warrant something extra, but I don't think it will.

I bet he's back for Game 3

If Connor McDavid can recover from the brutal decapitation he suffered at the hands of an angry Russian bear, I would assume Barkov would be able to bounce back similarly.

Or, you know, given that it's the playoffs, short of a significant injury impeding him, he'll be out there. Maybe in a birdcage.

If you see people wishing injury on players, or celebrating injury, report them. That crosses a line that shouldn't be crossed. I don't think that's allowed on the boards.
It is indeed not allowed, and such posts should absolutely be reported when seen.

It involves a star player, in the Stanley Cup Finals, in a rather chippy game.

I'm not saying it's justified or whatever, but these are things the NHL considers. Not other, similar hockey plays.

Like, we've known this for like 20 years or so, perhaps longer.

The Big Smoke (unfortunately)
Obviously I don't want McDavid injured, I'm not a psychopath, but that was so blatant by Drai that if doesn't get at least a game the Panthers WILL make this ugly. And they'll beat the f*** outta the Oilers so the league needs to act accordingly.
I assume by “beat the f*** outta the Oilers” you mean continue their own long and ignoble tradition of taking cheap shots at the opposing teams’ stars? Because that’s all I’ve seen them do these past two years. And I’ve yet to see a Panther back it up, either. All I’ve ever seen is them taking cheap shots and then running and hiding behind the refs, or snapping their heads back any time an opposing player has the audacity stand up for himself and take matters into his own hands. And the league has fallen for it and enabled it, as they are wont to do. Biggest bunch of fake tough-guy p***yes I’ve ever seen.
