You're definitely not right. Just watched it again.

IDK. You're definitely right that G smacks Carter and Carter shuffles the puck for a second, but Carter is making a strong move after that anyway with plenty of room to make the shot. I'm pretty sure I clearly saw Hank's stick slow down Carter's wrists.

Brown might have easily intercepted that puck even if Girardi's stick didn't break. Extremely high-risk play with Brown coming in so close.

Something goes wrong and you're ****ed.

Also, Girardi has now been on the ice for 7 goals against this series.

And non-positive (+/- wise) each game in this series. Yikes.

I just put the video up on Youtube. Girardi definitely is the reason that's not a goal.

It was a desperation play by him after he got torched, but it was still a heck of a job to save a goal.

We've lost every game this series when we've made a new thread after the 1st one filled. Let's keep this one open.

I see what Bird is talking about here. Had G not stick checked Carter, maybe he gets the shot off in front of hank as opposed to sliding further to hanks left

That's not the good angle, either. The third angle (the second one in my video) is the best. You see Carter's stick lose the puck once Girardi slashes him. He can't recover in time with Hank sliding out and it leaves Hank to have to deal with a weak shot from the side instead of a prime scoring chance.

As much as Girardi is to be blamed for the chance, he should also be credited for stopping the goal.
