That was nothing compared to the slash. The slash made him have to re-set entirely on the play. Hank played it well, don't get me wrong. But that's about 90% Girardi there. Hank did a good job coming out, too.

Remember, I crucified him originally for the chance. I completely missed that recovery until I went back on my DVR.
 
I just put the video up on Youtube. Girardi definitely is the reason that's not a goal.



It was a desperation play by him after he got torched, but it was still a heck of a job to save a goal.


I see what you're saying: I think that Carter still has a very good shot until Hank pushes his stick away from the puck at 6-7 seconds into your video. Though I will save G's slash lets Hank get the stick in to muddle up the play.

Either way, good recovery, good save.
 
Anyways it was easy to see how hard Girardi skated to get back there. I doubt he could skate any faster. He got Carter to lose his concentration and it was a really good play.
