Buch is not a reasonable deal when you have a cap issue. I know people don’t see that and only look at the current space yet it’s true. The return isn’t great yet the team is better on ice imo.

His cap hit is only 2.2m more than goodrows and he’s a much better player (and even penalty killer at this point). Plus his contract ends 2 years earlier when he’s still close to his prime and when we’ll need to sign all our young players. It’s really bad when you let Buch go for nothing in order to give Goodrow such a bad contract
