Machado dropped his appeal, so he'll start serving his suspension Sunday.

Also, Ventura suspension reduced to 8 games. Not sure how that's a thing, since his appeal wasn't even heard yet. Anyway, since it was reduced to 8 games, he'll drop his appeal. Guessing there was some kind of deal, you drop your appeal and we'll reduce your suspension by one game?

It's utterly ridiculous that players can time their suspensions by making appeals that they have no intention of actually going through with.

because someone asked about run support #s in the GDT before it closed:

Expressed as Runs of support per 9 innings pitched

1) Happ - 6.32
2) Sanchez - 6.31
3) Stroman - 5.92
4) Dickey - 3.74
5) Estrada - 3.71

in terms of raw runs of support, it goes Sanchez, Happ, Stroman, Estrada, Dickey. But that's going to have some differences in value based on total IP (which ranks Stroman, Sanchez, Happ, Estrada, Dickey, but the whole group sits in a span of about 5 innings)

So it's getting to that time where we start thinking all star candidates. From the Jays JD and EE should be locks. After that you could rationalize Estrada and perhaps Sanchez (although he could really use the break to rest)

Happ was probably right in there but hasn't been AS good lately

Estrada is more of a lock than JD or EE. He has been consistent all year, unlike the other 2. Estrada is going for sure, barring an injury. He has been dominant. For me, it's: Estrada, Saunders, Donaldson, and EE.

Having said that, I couldn't really care less about the ASG. I'd rather no Jays go and rest up.

Saunders has been the best offensive outfielder in baseball, so him too.

I can't see how they can leave EE off AS team with him leading the majors in RBI.

But then how many DH will they have with Ortiz being a lock.

Saunders has been relatively consistent, but he has kicked it into another gear of late. We shall see where he ends up. There are so many deserving AL outfielders. Would be a nice reward though considering everything in the last year and a bit.

On June 17th, yeah.

Well you know, we are talking all star game, which the players get chosen for halfway through the year. He for sure should be on it.

It's not like the comment was made 1 day into the season, saying Saunders is batting 1.000, he's a lock for the all star game. It's a 2.5 months comment on something that's decided on a sample of 3 months.

He's implying he was the best outfielder on June 17th and that's it (his 3 HR game). Trying to be funny.

With that said, Saunders has been a big boost to this team. We keep randomly finding guys like this.

It is funny how we got him for Happ and then turn around and sign Happ like 10 months later and now they are both doing very well for us when neither were much at the time of the trade.

He's worth of the all-star game for sure, I just don't think he's been the best offensive outfielder in baseball... (Other than the past week or so).

Guess I'm not as funny as I thought
