Chartier had another good outing today stopping 14/15 shots. He's now 2-0 and has stopped 49 of 51 shots in his 2 starts.

We've been asking for Wainwright and Brown to step up and boy did they ever. The heavy schedule to start the year seemed to catch up to the team today in the first two periods. A huge amount of credit to the line of Filak-Wainwright-Moses that kept the team afloat while everyone else was struggling. Wainwright our best forward putting up 2G/1A including the beauty in the second. You could see the weight lifted off of Brown's shoulders after he got his first goal. He was flying in the third and immediately goes out and gets his second too. Di Iorio showcased his great shot on the game-winning PP goal. Sometimes one goal can open up the floodgates so let's hope that's the case with the power play (probably not but we can always hope lol). It wasn't a pretty game from Maillet either but he shut the door after Flint's fifth goal. Always great to see that type of mental toughness from a young goalie. After I was critical of him earlier in the week I have to give credit to Letang. Saw he had the Filak-Wainwright-Moses line going and promoted to Karimov (who had another nice game) to play with Brown and Di Iorio I believe. He went with those two lines a ton in the third and it got them the W

Wish the record had at least one more win (the Saginaw choke job), but 3-2-3 isn't to shabby when you consider we were the only team to have beaten Windsor until this weekend, Saginaw x2 is a very solid team, Oshawa is a league favorite, Brantford is a threat in the east & Flint x2 is a solid team that spent a lot of picks to add good vets this summer.

Points in every game except two (@SAG & @ BRNT) & yet to lose in regulation at home. When you consider Wainwright, Brown, Karimov, Di Iorio hadn't produced at all till this weekend & the PP was a net negative on top of that I'll definitely take it.

Gonna have to deal with the growing pains (Bridgewater bad shift led to goal today, Brown brutal TO led to goal, Maillet not the best in net) but overall pretty happy thru 8 games. PK has been terrific. 5on5 they've been strong. Have been good in net outside today.

This next stretch as I mentioned yesterday with 11 of 14 on the road is a big part of their season. A brutal trip is something that could push you down the standings fast & a solid - good road trip would set them up very well in the 2nd half with so many home games.

Some coaching decisions aside (was much better today & hope he sticks with certain things) happy with what I've seen. It's a fun, young group that really battle.

Moses has no business getting top line minutes don't care whether he got points, no business playing with wainwright.
Wainwright not on pp s ludacris, come on jeffery wake the F up. I'm hoping video session with staff will open their eyes.
Doucette being quiet isn't helping us either. Johnston just a bottom 6 forward tgatsvwhy london traded not grit or heart very disappointed in that trade after true colours have come out on his play. We got sucked into that trade by preseason numbers

Good for anderson,, stepping up when we needed some momentum, young needs to learn from his heart.

After a weak glove hand goal maillet rebounded to make solid saves keep us in the game that's all we need

3 points of 6 is ok but suspect shoot out picks by letang again may have cost us a point.

Watching Highlights from yesterdays game versus flint, Brutal Defence on both teams but Flints first goal sees Bridgewater make a dumb play trying to ring it around the opposite side boards, puck gets intercepted by flint d man since doucettes not positioned on his wing, dman fires it to net maillet misses it and somehow lombardi is behind both bridgewater and young and slips it in past maillet who overplays the initial shot.
Second Flint Goal sees Hurt get absolutely walked at our Blueline flat footed then barr decides instead of letting Maillet take the shooter he will rush him leaving flint player wide open for an easy tap in, where the eff is the coaching on this play? Letang is suppose to be this amazing Defence first coach? I just dont see it. you always let the goalie take the shooter and dman takes the other player on a 2-1
Third goal was atrocious, Bridgewater has a sting player free on his left wing side but decides to go up middle, gets stripped by two flint players then hurt decides to screen maillet instead of take the shooter. Lol hilarious
4th Goal, not great either for flint. Aspinal rushes down wing crosses blueline with 3 sting players back, Bodin makes a lazy play by sticking his stick in shooters shot deflecting puck past maillet. No chance for maillet. Honestly all four goals so far are on the defence Not Maillet.
5th Flint goal sees alot of the same from sarnia, alot of reaching with sticks little to no effort making it easy on flint. Cant blame maillet on goal either really, i mean it was a rebound goal but Barr literally just let the flint guy waltz in without and physicality.

Im seeing a Common theme here from Letangs coaching and thats little to no physicality in D-zone lots of petty stick checks and guys being outworked, poor positional play as well.
Its getting hard to Defend Letang anymore, alot of this play is fixable in my eyes but for some reason its just not happening. brutal

I’m ok with Moses on that line. I’d rather have a lower skill guy willing to get near the net and muck it up than a third higher-skilled guy running around the perimeter.
A lot of our so-called skill guys aren’t beating goalies when the tender has a clear view.
Similarly, I think that’s part of the problem with our PP. I compare it to London’s excellent 2024 PP, where at the Memorial Cup they had big Dickenson creating havoc in front of the net while the other guys picked their shot opportunities. That’s what Nolan Burke did a couple years ago, too.
Just a thought…

Your ok with moses playIng 20 mins a game and players like kostuch and doucette playing 15-16 mins, that's just stupid logic. Filak is that go to net guy ans doucette and Wainwright would be dynamite.
I'm shocked we have a moses fan at all think anyone would do more in that spot than him. Sim even

He was on the ice for 3 goals-for and one goal-against, all at even strength. For that you want to give him a demotion? Sometimes things that don’t make sense on paper look decent on the ice.
I’m way more concerned about the team’s ability to get the puck out over our own blue line.

Anyone could have played with wainwright and been +3
Moses is a checking line guy not an offensive line guy. Anyone that knows about hockey recognizes the difference.
D has struggled with slow or panic puck movement.
Bridgewater riimming puck, young has to stick handle before making pass in own end and hurt has struggled alot this year but anyone would struggle playing with young.

We need wainwright doucette brown kostuch scoring regular. In scoring roles, not checking roles . You don't put your best offensive guys on 3rd line and play a 3rd/4th line talent on top line. Can't give moses all those minutes he doesn't deserve, Not how good coaches design lines (except letang) lol

So moses is being compared to dickenson or burke hahaha omg
London's pp was good because they had pp1 cowan barkey dickenson julian and bonk
We should have
Wainwright doucette fischer barr and karimov (your front of net guy)
They should play 1.5 minutes and then let younger guys lead by filak on second pp
Brown Dilorio filak kostuch and young that's how you can compare to London's pp1 but again we need dale hunter to coach that tho huge difference there
Pp1 needs to score so we can role lines to develop younger players. When it doesn't players like Edward's kostuch karimov don't get as much ice in 3rd for tight games that hurts their development.
We need to do something about this hate seeing karimov play 3 shifts in 3rd period and kostuch play 3 And Edwards 3

Fischer can be net front dickenson as well with barr running pp1 I'd say as close as possible to london.
We need to do something about pp

We struggle to even enter the zone on the PP, let alone actually hold possession with our lack of composure. I’d guess that 50%+ of our PP zone entries result in being immediately stopped at the opponents blue line and puck sent back to our end.

If they are gonna go for controlled zone entries and not a dump and chase Young has probably been the best for those. Fischer has been okay-ish. Di Orio and Edwards have shown good composure as well. All just my opinion :)

No, Moses not even close in size & skill, but it’s a role that could maximize his contribution to the team.
Re Karimov, I’m personally not that crazy about him yet. Lots of talent, but I haven’t seen him mesh very well with any of the line combinations he’s been on. Lots of good solo skills, but his vision of what’s going on around him still needs to develop. I’m expecting that in the next month or so, the line experiments that are going on will be over and he will have a few weeks with the same guys, get used to playing with them, and have a breakout second half. Right now he’s not a good enough passer to work the PP.
my opinion only - I’m sure others might disagree
